The regulators have studied aluminium in cosmetics closely and set numbers, and almost nobody has studied the household practices that fitkari is actually used for. Sweat gland blockage is the mechanism described for aluminium compounds in the cosmetics literature.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NHS<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">[<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/conditions\/excessive-sweating-hyperhidrosis\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> treats stronger antiperspirants as the first step for heavy sweating, and says a pharmacist can advise on those along with sweat shields and foot powders. It does not name alum specifically.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where that fails it moves on. The NHS advises seeing a GP if excessive sweating has lasted at least six months, happens at least once a week, or interferes with daily life. Sweating that wakes a person at night sits on the same list.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Is alum used to purify water?\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes, and at national scale rather than only in a bucket. It gives 0.1 mg per litre or less as achievable in large, well-run treatment plants. The SCCS records local dermal effects from aluminium compounds applied to animal skin over five days, including epidermal damage and thickening of the skin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is careful about who this applies to.
