Another reason for the lower cost of generic medications is that they often face less competition than brand-name drugs. When a generic drug enters the market, it may be the only generic version of that drug available, allowing the manufacturer to charge a lower price. As more generic versions of the drug become available, competition among the manufacturers can increase, leading to further price decreases.<\/span><\/p>\n
