About RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION

  • RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION contains Ranibizumab, a medicine that belongs to a group called anti-VEGF agents. These agents work by blocking a protein in your body called VEGF-A. This protein is responsible for making new, unwanted blood vessels grow abnormally in the eye, which can cause serious vision problems. By blocking VEGF-A, RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION helps stop this abnormal growth and can prevent further damage to your sight.
  • This injection is used for adults dealing with several eye conditions that harm vision. One common use is treating wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD). This condition affects the part of your eye responsible for sharp, central vision, making it hard to read, drive, or see faces clearly. Wet AMD happens when abnormal blood vessels grow under the macula, leaking fluid and blood, and RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION helps seal these leaks and reduce swelling.
  • RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION is also used for myopic choroidal neovascularization (mCNV). This affects people with severe nearsightedness where similar abnormal blood vessels grow at the back of the eye. It's also effective for macular edema, which is swelling at the back of the eye caused by blockages in the blood vessels leading from the eye (retinal vein occlusion or RVO). This swelling can severely blur vision.
  • Furthermore, RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION is a crucial treatment for diabetic macular edema (DME) and diabetic retinopathy. Diabetes can damage the blood vessels in the retina. DME is swelling in the macula due to leaking vessels caused by diabetes, leading to vision loss. Diabetic retinopathy refers to the overall damage to the retinal blood vessels from diabetes. RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION helps control the leaking and growth of these damaged vessels, preserving vision.
  • You should not receive RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION if you have ever had an allergic reaction to Ranibizumab or any other ingredients in the medicine. It must also be avoided if you currently have an active infection inside or around your eye, or if your eye is very painful or red.
