About ASKLEROL 3% INJECTION

  • ASKLEROL 3% INJECTION contains an active ingredient called Polidocanol, which belongs to the group of medicines called sclerosing agents. It is specifically designed to treat varicose veins, focusing on uncomplicated spider veins (varicose veins ≤1 mm in diameter) and uncomplicated reticular veins (varicose veins 1 to 3 mm in diameter) in the lower extremity. However, it's important to note that its effectiveness hasn't been extensively studied for larger varicose veins exceeding 3 mm in diameter. Varicose veins are characterized by their swollen, pigmented, and twisted appearance, commonly found in the legs. They arise due to disruptions in blood flow, leading to blood accumulation and the undesirable aesthetic of the legs. This injection aims to diminish the appearance of these varicose veins and promote improved blood circulation.
  • It's crucial to avoid ASKLEROL 3% INJECTION if you have a known allergy to Polidocanol or any other components of the injection. Furthermore, it is contraindicated in individuals with uncontrolled systemic diseases, including diabetes, hyperthyroidism, tuberculosis, asthma, neoplasm, systemic infections, blood dyscrasias, and acute respiratory or skin diseases. The injection should also be avoided by those who are immobile or suffering from severe arterial occlusive disease (Fontaine stages III and IV). Moreover, it is not suitable for individuals with thromboembolic diseases or a high risk of thrombosis, which may stem from hereditary thrombophilia, the use of hormonal contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy, obesity, smoking, or prolonged periods of immobility. Microfoam sclerotherapy is not advised for patients with a known symptomatic right-to-left shunt, such as a symptomatic patent foramen ovale.
  • Before initiating treatment with ASKLEROL 3% INJECTION, it is essential to inform your doctor if you have pre-existing conditions like asymptomatic but known PFO, experience visual or neurological symptoms following previous microfoam treatment, or suffer from fever, bronchial asthma, allergies, arterial occlusive disease, leg edema, inflammatory skin disease, symptomatic microangiopathy, or neuropathy. Additionally, disclose any use of anticoagulation medication. Inform your doctor about any allergies you may have or a history of anaphylaxis. Be prepared to manage anaphylaxis in the event of an allergic reaction during the procedure.
