This protein is part of a group of medicines known as erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs). These medicines work by helping your body produce more red blood cells. This injection is primarily used to treat anemia, a condition where your body doesn't have enough red blood cells. It's effective for anemia caused by chronic kidney disease (CKD), which often affects the body's ability to make this protein naturally. It also helps treat anemia that can occur as a side effect of cancer chemotherapy or treatments for HIV infection, such as zidovudine. By boosting red blood cell levels, MIRCERA 100MCG/0.3ML INJECTION can also reduce the need for red blood cell transfusions in patients who are at high risk of losing a lot of blood during planned surgery or other medical procedures.
  • However, MIRCERA 100MCG/0.3ML INJECTION is not suitable for everyone.
