CML is a type of blood cancer characterized by an overproduction of white blood cells due to an alteration in the Philadelphia chromosome. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a common childhood blood cancer, involves the rapid multiplication and prolonged survival of lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell.
