Allergies
Contraindicated in known allergyDo not use 6 DMR cough syrup if you are known to be allergic to any of its active ingredients or excipients listed on the label.
6 DMR cough syrup is generally used to relieve cough associated with common colds, throat irritation, or mild respiratory tract infections. It helps reduce the intensity and frequency of coughing and may also assist in loosening mucus, depending on the exact formulation. It is meant for short‑term symptom relief and does not cure the underlying cause of the cough.
Use 6 DMR cough syrup exactly as directed on the product label or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. The dose and frequency depend on age, clinical condition, and the specific formulation. Use the measuring cup or spoon provided with the bottle to ensure accurate dosing. Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration of use, and do not give it to children below the age stated on the label without medical advice.
If you have liver disease or a history of liver problems, you should consult your doctor before using 6 DMR cough syrup. Some ingredients commonly found in cough syrups are metabolized by the liver and may require dose adjustment or avoidance in moderate to severe liver impairment. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and risks and may recommend an alternative or closer monitoring.
People with kidney disease should use 6 DMR cough syrup cautiously and only under medical supervision. Certain components may accumulate or have altered effects in reduced kidney function. Inform your doctor about your kidney condition and all other medicines you are taking so they can decide whether this product is appropriate for you and if any dose modification or monitoring is needed.
Use of 6 DMR cough syrup during pregnancy should be based on medical advice. Safety data for some cough and cold ingredients in pregnancy may be limited, especially in the first trimester. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or think you might be pregnant, consult your doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor will consider the severity of your symptoms, available alternatives, and potential risks to the fetus.
If you are breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before using 6 DMR cough syrup. Some active ingredients in cough syrups can pass into breast milk and may cause drowsiness, irritability, or other effects in the nursing infant. Your doctor may recommend the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time, suggest monitoring the baby for unusual sleepiness or feeding difficulties, or advise an alternative treatment.
Many combination cough syrups can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or reduced alertness, especially if they contain antihistamines or centrally acting cough suppressants. Until you know how 6 DMR cough syrup affects you, avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing tasks that require full concentration. If you feel sleepy, light‑headed, or less alert after taking it, do not drive and speak with your doctor about alternative options.
It is generally advisable to avoid alcohol while taking 6 DMR cough syrup. Alcohol can increase drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired coordination caused by some cough syrup ingredients and may put extra strain on the liver. Combining alcohol with sedating medicines also raises the risk of accidents and breathing difficulties. If you have consumed alcohol, use this medicine only after discussing it with a healthcare professional.
If you have a history of allergies to any cough or cold medicines, antihistamines, preservatives, flavoring agents, or other drugs, inform your doctor or pharmacist before using 6 DMR cough syrup. Always check the ingredient list on the label. Do not take the syrup if you know you are allergic to any of its components. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, itching, swelling of the face or throat, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing.
Stop using 6 DMR cough syrup and consult a doctor if your cough lasts more than a few days, worsens, or is accompanied by high fever, chest pain, wheezing, difficulty breathing, or if you cough up blood or large amounts of thick, discolored mucus. You should also seek medical advice if you experience severe side effects such as intense drowsiness, confusion, palpitations, severe rash, or any signs of liver or kidney problems like yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or reduced urine output.
