How ACNESTAR GEL 22 GM Works

• Clindamycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, which stops the growth and multiplication of Cutibacterium acnes, a bacterium involved in acne inflammation within hair follicles. Reducing this bacterial load lessens the redness, swelling and pus formation associated with acne lesions.
• Niacinamide has anti-inflammatory properties that help calm irritated skin and reduce redness. It is also thought to help regulate sebum, the oily substance produced by the skin's sebaceous glands, which can contribute to clogged pores when produced in excess.

Dryness, peeling or scaling of the skin, redness, a burning sensation and itching at the application site are commonly reported, particularly when starting treatment. Increased sensitivity to sunlight and temporary changes in skin colour can occur less commonly. A widespread rash, hives, or facial swelling are signs of an allergic reaction and need medical attention.

• If you miss a dose of Acnestar Gel 22 GM, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

• Store the tube in its original pack, below 25°C unless the pack states otherwise, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children. Do not use the gel after the expiry date printed on the pack.

• Cleanse the skin gently before application; avoid harsh scrubbing
• Apply a thin layer to the affected area only, not the entire face
• Use a broad-spectrum, oil-free sunscreen during the day
• Moisturise with a non-comedogenic product if dryness or peeling occurs
• Be patient; improvement typically takes several weeks of consistent use
• Seek medical advice if irritation is severe or acne does not improve after several weeks

• There is no known food interaction with this topical gel, since it is applied to the skin rather than taken by mouth.
