About ACTEMRA 400MG/20ML INJECTION
- ACTEMRA 400MG/20ML INJECTION contains tocilizumab, a monoclonal antibody (a protein made from specific immune cells). It treats moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in adults who haven't responded well to other RA medications. It is also used to treat giant cell arteritis (inflammation of arteries), and several types of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) in children.
- ACTEMRA is used for specific types of JIA, including systemic JIA (sJIA) in children aged 2 and older, and polyarticular JIA (pJIA) in children aged 1 and older. These conditions cause pain and swelling in one or more joints. Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is a condition causing inflammation of the arteries, most commonly affecting those in the head, especially the temples. Symptoms may include headaches, jaw pain, and vision changes. ACTEMRA helps reduce inflammation and control symptoms associated with these conditions.
