About ACTORISE 100 INJECTION
- ACTORISE 100 INJECTION contains the medicine called Darbepoetin Alfa. This medicine is a type of treatment known as a hematopoietic growth factor. This means it helps your body produce more red blood cells, which carry oxygen. ACTORISE 100 INJECTION is used to treat anemia, a condition where you don't have enough red blood cells. This often happens in people with chronic kidney disease because their kidneys can't make enough of a natural substance needed to produce red blood cells. It's also used for anemia in patients undergoing chemotherapy for certain cancers, as chemotherapy can sometimes lower red blood cell counts. Anemia can make you feel very tired (fatigue), weak, and short of breath because your body isn't getting enough oxygen.
- It's very important *not* to use ACTORISE 100 INJECTION if you have ever had an allergic reaction to darbepoetin alfa or any of its ingredients. Also, you should not take this injection if your blood pressure is severely high and not controlled by medication. Always tell your doctor about your medical history. Make sure to mention if you have high blood pressure (even if controlled), a history of fits or seizures, epilepsy, liver problems, or an allergy to latex. You should also inform your doctor if you have or have had Hepatitis C. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, discuss this with your doctor before using ACTORISE 100 INJECTION, as it may affect your pregnancy or breast milk.
- While using ACTORISE 100 INJECTION, some serious side effects can occur that require immediate medical attention. Contact your doctor right away if you experience symptoms like a severe headache, feeling dizzy or confused, changes in your vision, feeling very sleepy (drowsiness), feeling sick to your stomach (nausea or vomiting), or if you have a seizure (fit). These could be signs of a serious issue. Like all medicines, ACTORISE 100 INJECTION can also cause side effects. The most common ones include high blood pressure (hypertension), feeling short of breath, swelling in your legs or feet (edema), and a cough. Your doctor will monitor you for these side effects and manage them if needed.
