Moreover, it is used to lubricate and re-wet soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses. It is also indicated to relieve dryness, irritation, and discomfort that may be associated with lens wear.
You may experience visual disturbances, eye discharge, and may notice medication residue while using this medicine. Some other side effects of this medicine include redness of the eye, eye irritation, burning and discomfort, eyelid swelling and itching of the eye.

If you are using it for dry eyes, instil 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed. If you are using it to lubricate soft and rigid gas-permeable lenses, apply 1 to 2 drops to each eye with the lenses on as needed or as directed by your doctor. Blink several times after pouring the drops.
No, AQUASURGE EYE DROPS 10 ML is a safe medicine. It is meant for external use only and is not harmful. In some patients, AQUASURGE EYE DROPS 10 ML may cause eye irritation (burning and discomfort), eye pain, itchy eyes, visual disturbance. Immediately contact your doctor if any of these effects perists.
Aquasurge Eye Drops is an ophthalmic lubricant containing sodium carboxymethyl cellulose 0.5% w/v. It is used to provide temporary relief from symptoms of dry eye such as burning, irritation, grittiness, and foreign body sensation. It helps stabilise the tear film and hydrate the ocular surface. It is intended for symptomatic relief and does not cure underlying eye disease.
The active ingredient, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, is a viscoelastic polymer that mimics components of the natural tear film. When instilled into the eye, it forms a lubricating and protective layer over the cornea and conjunctiva. This layer reduces friction between the eyelids and ocular surface, decreases tear evaporation, and improves tear film stability, thereby reducing dryness and discomfort.
Aquasurge Eye Drops is often used in combination with other ophthalmic medications, such as anti-allergic drops, anti-glaucoma drops, or anti-inflammatory preparations, as advised by an eye specialist. To avoid dilution or washout of other medicines, it is generally recommended to separate different eye drops by an interval, typically several minutes, following your doctor’s instructions. Always follow the sequence and timing advised by your ophthalmologist.
Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose-based lubricating eye drops are commonly used for long-term management of chronic dry eye when recommended by an eye care professional. However, long-term safety also depends on factors such as the presence and type of preservative, frequency of use, and underlying eye conditions. Regular follow-up with an ophthalmologist is important to reassess the need for ongoing therapy and to monitor for any signs of intolerance or ocular surface changes.
Whether Aquasurge Eye Drops can be used with contact lenses depends on the specific formulation and the type of lenses. Some lubricating drops are not recommended for instillation directly over soft contact lenses, especially if they contain certain preservatives. In many cases, patients are advised to remove lenses before applying the drops and wait a period before reinserting them. You should follow the instructions on the product label and the advice of your eye care professional regarding contact lens use.
Aquasurge Eye Drops is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects include transient blurred vision immediately after instillation, mild eye irritation, stinging, or redness. Hypersensitivity reactions to any component of the formulation can occur but are uncommon; these may present as persistent redness, swelling of the eyelids, itching, or worsening discomfort. If you experience severe or persistent symptoms, stop using the product and seek medical advice promptly.
Accidental use of more drops than intended may cause temporary blurred vision, excessive tearing, or mild discomfort due to overflow, but is unlikely to cause serious harm in most individuals when used as an eye lubricant. You may gently wipe away excess fluid with a clean tissue. If significant irritation, pain, or visual disturbance persists, or if you have an underlying eye condition, contact your ophthalmologist for further guidance.
Use of Aquasurge Eye Drops in children should be based on the recommendation of a paediatrician or paediatric ophthalmologist. While sodium carboxymethyl cellulose lubricants are used in paediatric practice, the decision to use this specific product, its frequency, and duration should be individualised. Caregivers should ensure correct instillation technique and monitor the child for any signs of intolerance or adverse effects.
Aquasurge Eye Drops is for external ophthalmic use only. Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye, eyelids, fingers, or any surface to avoid contamination. Do not use the solution if it becomes discoloured, cloudy, or contains particles. Check the expiry date before use and discard the bottle as advised on the label after opening. If you develop eye pain, sudden changes in vision, persistent redness, or if your symptoms do not improve, stop using the drops and consult an eye specialist.
Systemic absorption of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose from topical ocular use is expected to be minimal. However, controlled data in pregnancy and breastfeeding are limited. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be based on a risk–benefit assessment by a healthcare professional. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding before starting or continuing Aquasurge Eye Drops.
Immediately after instillation, Aquasurge Eye Drops may cause transient blurred vision or visual fluctuation due to the presence of the lubricating film. You should wait until your vision is clear and stable before driving, operating machinery, or performing tasks that require sharp visual focus. If blurred vision persists or recurs, seek advice from an eye care professional.
