Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them.

General Use and Concomitant Medicines
Inform your doctor about all treatmentsBilasure should be used exactly as directed by a healthcare professional or according to the product label; patients should not exceed the recommended regimen.
BILASURE 20MG TABLET 10'S is an antihistamine that is used to relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (sneezing, itchy nose, nasal secretion, nasal congestion, and red streaming eyes) and other forms of allergic conditions. It can also be used to treat itchy skin rashes (wheals or urticaria).
The effects of this medicine may be noticed as early as one hour after taking and last approximately 24 hours.
The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet (20 mg) taken by mouth, once a day. It should be taken with water on an empty stomach; one hour before eating or two hours after eating for the best effect. Do not self-medicate and always consult your doctor. He/she will decide the dose based on your condition.
It is advisable to avoid taking antacids 30 minutes before or after taking this medicine. It can make it harder for your body to absorb this medicine.
Yes, headache is a common side-effect of this medicine. Take rest, drink plenty of water and ask your doctor to recommend a suitable painkiller. If the headaches continue, let your doctor know.
Although BILASURE 20MG TABLET 10'S is a non-drowsy antihistamine; however, it can still cause drowsiness in a few people. Make sure your reactions are normal before you drive, or before using tools or machines.
Avoid drinking fruit juices along with BILASURE 20MG TABLET 10'S as this may affect the absorption of this medicine.
Bilasure is a brand of bilastine, a second‑generation antihistamine. It is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis (such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, and itchy or watery eyes) and chronic spontaneous urticaria (hives), including itching and skin wheals. It provides symptomatic relief but does not cure the underlying allergy.
Bilasure contains bilastine, which selectively blocks peripheral H1 histamine receptors. Histamine is a chemical released during allergic reactions that causes symptoms like itching, swelling, and increased mucus production. By blocking these receptors, bilastine reduces the effects of histamine and helps control allergic symptoms without significant penetration into the brain, which lowers the risk of sedation.
Bilasure is taken by mouth once daily, swallowed with water. It is generally recommended to take it on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after food, because food and certain fruit juices can reduce its absorption. Always follow the dosing instructions given by your doctor or printed on the package, and do not change the dose or frequency without medical advice.
Common side effects reported with bilastine include headache, drowsiness or somnolence, dizziness, abdominal pain, and dry mouth. These effects are usually mild and temporary. If side effects are persistent, troublesome, or if you notice any unusual symptoms, you should contact your healthcare provider for assessment.
Bilastine is classified as a non‑sedating antihistamine and, at recommended doses, most people do not experience significant drowsiness. However, some individuals may still feel sleepy, dizzy, or less alert. You should first see how Bilasure affects you before driving, operating machinery, or performing tasks that require full concentration. If you feel drowsy or dizzy, avoid such activities and speak with your doctor.
Data on the use of bilastine in pregnant women are limited. Animal studies do not indicate direct harmful effects at therapeutic exposures, but the absence of robust human data means that Bilasure should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Pregnant women should consult their doctor before starting or continuing Bilasure.
Information on the excretion of bilastine into human breast milk is limited. Because many medicines can pass into breast milk, Bilasure should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Your doctor will weigh the benefits of treatment for you against any potential risk to the nursing infant and may recommend alternative options if appropriate.
Bilastine itself has a low sedative potential, but combining it with alcohol may increase the risk of drowsiness, dizziness, or reduced alertness in some individuals. It is generally advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption while taking Bilasure, especially when you need to drive or perform tasks requiring mental alertness.
Bilastine absorption can be reduced when taken with food or certain fruit juices, particularly grapefruit, orange, and apple juice, which may lower its effectiveness. It should be taken with water on an empty stomach. Bilastine may also interact with some medicines that affect drug transporters or have sedative or QT‑prolonging effects. Always inform your doctor and pharmacist about all medicines and supplements you are taking so they can check for potential interactions.
Bilastine is mainly eliminated by the kidneys. In patients with moderate to severe renal impairment, exposure to the drug may be increased, and caution is advised, particularly if other medicines that affect kidney function or drug elimination are being used. Available data do not indicate a need for specific adjustment in mild to moderate hepatic impairment, but clinical experience is more limited in severe liver disease. Patients with kidney or liver problems should use Bilasure only under medical supervision.
If you miss a dose of Bilasure, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the usual time. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one, as this may increase the risk of side effects without improving symptom control.
Bilastine is used in pediatric patients in some regions, but the appropriate age range, formulation, and dosing depend on local regulatory approvals and clinical guidelines. Children should not be given Bilasure unless it has been specifically prescribed for them by a pediatrician or qualified healthcare professional, who will determine whether it is suitable and how it should be used.
