Most side effects are temporary and disappear as your body adapts to the medication. However, if these side effects persist or cause concern, it's important to consult your doctor. CANDID V6 VAGINAL TABLET 6'S common side effects include application site irritation.

General and local precautions
Use correctly and monitor symptomsCandid V6 is for intravaginal use only and must not be swallowed or applied to the eyes, mouth, or broken skin.
Yes, CANDID V6 VAGINAL TABLET 6'S is used around the vaginal area to reduce symptoms such as burning, itching, redness, and excessive discharge from the vagina that may occur due to a vaginal yeast infection. It works by stopping the growth of yeast (fungus) that causes the infection.
You should use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It is best to use it at night time for better results.
Do not start treatment with CANDID V6 VAGINAL TABLET 6'S during your periods as the medicine will be washed off with blood flow. In such a case, consult your doctor who can prescribe you oral antifungals. Also, do not use tampons, spermicide or other vaginal products while using CANDID V6 VAGINAL TABLET 6'S.
CANDID V6 VAGINAL TABLET 6'S does not affect sex life. However, do not have vaginal intercourse as long as you are using this medicine. Also, barrier contraceptives (condoms, diaphragms) may get damaged if it comes in contact with CANDID V6 VAGINAL TABLET 6'S and may fail to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
Symptoms of vaginal infection generally reduces within 2 to 4 weeks after use of CANDID V6 VAGINAL TABLET 6'S. However, it is advisable to continue using it until the symptoms disappear or as long as prescribed by your doctor to avoid recurrence of the infection.
CANDID V6 VAGINAL TABLET 6'S can be used again if the fungal infection returns after 7 days. However, if the infection recurs more than twice within six months, you should consult your doctor.
Vaginal fungal infection is due to overgrowth of fungus in the vaginal area. This can be due to overuse of certain antibiotics use, a weak immune system, diabetes, pregnancy, menopause and taking oral contraceptives or hormone therapy that increase estrogen levels.
A vaginal fungal infection is diagnosed by your doctor. He/she may need to take a sample of discharge from your vagina to confirm the infection. The combination of your symptoms and the sample of the discharge will tell what type of fungal infection you have and help determine the best way to treat the infection.
You can prevent vaginal fungal infection by incorporating simple lifestyle tips such as wearing cotton undergarments, practicing good personal hygiene, keeping yourself dry and clean, and including probiotics or yogurt in your diet.
Candid V6 tablet is a clotrimazole-containing vaginal tablet used to treat vulvovaginal candidiasis, commonly known as vaginal yeast infection. It acts locally in the vagina to kill or inhibit the growth of Candida species, which cause symptoms such as itching, burning, redness, and thick white discharge. It is intended for intravaginal use only and should be used exactly as directed by a healthcare professional or as per the approved product information.
Candid V6 contains clotrimazole, an imidazole antifungal agent. Clotrimazole works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. Disruption of ergosterol production alters membrane permeability, causing leakage of cellular contents and ultimately leading to fungal cell death or growth inhibition. Because it is applied locally in the vagina, it achieves high concentrations at the site of infection with minimal systemic absorption in most healthy adults.
Candid V6 tablet is designed for insertion deep into the vagina, usually at bedtime to reduce leakage and improve contact time. The exact dosing schedule, including the number of tablets and duration of therapy, is specified in the product leaflet and by the prescribing clinician. The tablet should not be swallowed. Hands should be washed before and after insertion. Patients should not alter the recommended regimen or stop treatment early, even if symptoms improve, without consulting a healthcare professional.
Many women notice partial relief of itching, burning, and discomfort within a few days of starting Candid V6 therapy. However, complete resolution of symptoms and eradication of the infection may take the full recommended course of treatment. If symptoms persist beyond the advised treatment period, worsen, or recur within two months, medical reassessment is recommended to confirm the diagnosis and rule out other conditions or resistant organisms.
Common side effects are usually mild and localized, including transient vaginal burning, stinging, irritation, itching, or discomfort after insertion. Some women may experience increased vaginal discharge as the tablet dissolves. Less commonly, there may be abdominal cramps or pelvic discomfort. Severe irritation, rash, swelling of the vulva, difficulty breathing, or generalized allergic symptoms are uncommon but require immediate medical attention and discontinuation of the product.
Use of clotrimazole vaginal preparations in pregnancy should be guided by a healthcare professional. In many guidelines, topical or intravaginal azole antifungals are considered acceptable for treating symptomatic vaginal candidiasis during pregnancy when clearly needed, particularly in the second and third trimesters. However, the choice of formulation, duration, and timing should be individualized. Pregnant women should not self-medicate and must consult their obstetrician or healthcare provider before using Candid V6.
Systemic absorption of clotrimazole from intravaginal use is generally low, and clinically significant transfer into breast milk is unlikely. In most cases, Candid V6 can be used during breastfeeding when prescribed by a healthcare professional, especially if the infection is symptomatic and requires treatment. However, breastfeeding mothers should inform their doctor about lactation status, and any unusual symptoms in the mother or infant should be reported promptly.
Sexual intercourse during treatment with Candid V6 is generally not recommended. Intercourse may increase local irritation, reduce the effectiveness of the medicine by displacing it from the vagina, and expose the partner to clotrimazole. Additionally, clotrimazole vaginal products may weaken latex condoms and diaphragms, potentially reducing their contraceptive reliability and protection against sexually transmitted infections. Patients should discuss appropriate timing of sexual activity and contraception with their healthcare provider.
Candid V6 should not be used by individuals with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to clotrimazole, other imidazole antifungals, or any component of the formulation. Women with unexplained vaginal bleeding, lower abdominal pain, fever, foul-smelling discharge, ulcers, blisters, or sores in the genital area should seek medical evaluation before using this product, as these symptoms may indicate conditions other than simple candidiasis. It is also not intended for use in children unless specifically advised by a specialist.
Because Candid V6 is used locally in the vagina, systemic drug interactions are unlikely in most healthy adults. However, clotrimazole vaginal products can weaken latex-based barrier contraceptives such as condoms and diaphragms, potentially reducing their effectiveness. Patients using such methods should consider additional or alternative contraception during treatment and for a short period after completion, as advised by their clinician. Women taking other vaginal products, such as spermicides or other antifungals, should consult a healthcare professional before combining them with Candid V6.
If symptoms do not improve, worsen, or recur within a short time after completing the recommended course of Candid V6, you should consult a healthcare professional. Persistent or recurrent symptoms may indicate resistant Candida species, incorrect diagnosis, bacterial vaginosis, sexually transmitted infections, dermatological conditions, or other gynecological disorders. Your doctor may perform a pelvic examination, microscopic evaluation, or culture to identify the cause and may adjust treatment accordingly.
