How CHESTON COLD TABLET 10'S Works

• Cetirizine blocks histamine H1 receptors, reducing the sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes caused by an allergic or cold-related histamine response. Being a second-generation antihistamine, it generally causes less drowsiness than older antihistamines, though some people can still feel sedated.
• Paracetamol works mainly within the central nervous system to reduce the sensation of pain and lower fever. Phenylephrine narrows blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing swelling and congestion so that breathing through the nose becomes easier. Together, these three ingredients address the pain, fever, congestion and allergic-type symptoms that commonly accompany a cold.

Drowsiness, dry mouth, headache and nausea are the most commonly reported effects. Palpitations, increased blood pressure and difficulty sleeping have also been reported, related to the decongestant component. Signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as facial or throat swelling, a widespread rash or breathing difficulty, need immediate medical attention. Yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or persistent nausea and vomiting need prompt medical attention, since these can indicate liver injury from excess paracetamol.

• If you miss a dose of Cheston Cold Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.

• Store the tablets in their original pack, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children and pets.

• Take with or after food to reduce the chance of stomach upset
• Avoid other paracetamol-containing products while taking this tablet
• Avoid alcohol during treatment
• Avoid driving or operating machinery until it is known how this tablet affects alertness
• Seek medical advice if symptoms persist beyond about a week or are accompanied by high fever or breathing difficulty

• Cheston Cold can be taken with or without food, though taking it with food may help reduce the chance of stomach upset. Alcohol should be avoided during treatment.
