COMBIFLAM TABLET 20'S can generally be taken on an empty stomach, but taking it with food or milk may help reduce the risk of stomach upset or irritation, especially for individuals prone to gastrointestinal issues.

Yes, it helps reduce fever as it contains Paracetamol, which has antipyretic properties. However, consult a doctor if fever persists.
Avoid taking Combiflam with other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, aspirin, or diclofenac) or Paracetamol-containing medicines to prevent overdose and side effects.
Combiflam tablet is generally used for short-term relief of mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever. It is commonly taken for conditions such as headache, toothache, menstrual pain, muscle and joint pain, backache, and pain or fever associated with cold and flu. It contains a combination of ibuprofen and paracetamol/acetaminophen, which work together to relieve pain and bring down high temperature. It should be used only as directed on the label or as advised by a healthcare professional.
Combiflam tablet usually contains ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and paracetamol/acetaminophen, an analgesic and antipyretic. Ibuprofen reduces the production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals responsible for pain, inflammation, and swelling. Paracetamol acts mainly in the brain to reduce the perception of pain and lower body temperature. Together, they provide enhanced pain relief and fever reduction compared with either medicine alone in some patients, while allowing each drug to be used at a lower individual dose.
Combiflam tablet contains paracetamol, which can be harmful to the liver if taken in doses higher than recommended, taken too frequently, or used for a prolonged period. People with existing liver disease, a history of hepatitis, chronic alcohol use, or those taking other medicines that affect the liver should consult a doctor before using Combiflam. It is important not to take any other paracetamol-containing products at the same time. If you notice symptoms such as yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, severe fatigue, or upper right abdominal pain, stop the medicine and seek medical help immediately.
Ibuprofen, one of the components of Combiflam tablet, can reduce blood flow to the kidneys and may worsen kidney function, especially in people who already have kidney disease, are dehydrated, elderly, or taking certain blood pressure medicines and diuretics. Patients with mild to moderate kidney impairment should use Combiflam only under medical supervision, and those with severe kidney disease are usually advised to avoid such NSAID-containing combinations unless specifically directed by a specialist. Adequate hydration and regular monitoring of kidney function may be necessary in at-risk patients.
Use of Combiflam tablet during pregnancy should be strictly based on a doctor’s advice. Ibuprofen is generally avoided, especially in the third trimester, because it can affect the baby’s heart and blood circulation and may complicate labor. Paracetamol is usually considered safer for short-term use in pregnancy when used at recommended doses, but the combination with ibuprofen changes the risk profile. Pregnant women should not self-medicate with Combiflam. If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or suspect you might be pregnant, consult your doctor for safer alternatives and individualized guidance.
Paracetamol passes into breast milk in very small amounts and is generally considered compatible with breastfeeding when used at recommended doses. Ibuprofen also passes into breast milk in low levels and is usually considered acceptable for short-term use in breastfeeding women. However, when combined in a single tablet, the overall risk and benefit should be assessed by a healthcare professional. Breastfeeding mothers should use Combiflam tablet only on medical advice, at the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration, and should watch the baby for unusual sleepiness, feeding difficulties, or irritability.
Combiflam tablet does not usually cause significant drowsiness in most people, but some individuals may experience side effects such as dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue, or visual disturbances. If you feel dizzy, sleepy, or unwell after taking the tablet, you should avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing tasks that require full alertness. It is advisable to see how the medicine affects you before engaging in such activities. If these symptoms persist or are severe, consult your doctor.
Alcohol consumption should be limited or avoided while taking Combiflam tablet. Paracetamol can cause liver damage at high doses or with chronic use, and alcohol further increases the risk of liver injury. Ibuprofen can irritate the stomach lining and increase the risk of gastritis, ulcers, and bleeding, and alcohol can worsen these effects. Combining alcohol with this medicine may therefore increase the chances of serious side effects involving the liver and digestive system. If you regularly drink alcohol, discuss this with your doctor before using Combiflam.
People who have had an allergic reaction to ibuprofen, paracetamol, aspirin, other NSAIDs, or any ingredient in Combiflam tablet should not take this medicine. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, difficulty breathing, wheezing, or severe dizziness. Some individuals with asthma, nasal polyps, or a history of aspirin-sensitive asthma may experience worsening breathing problems with ibuprofen. If you develop any signs of allergy after taking Combiflam, stop the medicine immediately and seek urgent medical attention.
Combiflam tablet can interact with several other medicines. Ibuprofen may interact with blood thinners such as warfarin, certain blood pressure medicines (like ACE inhibitors, ARBs, and diuretics), some antidepressants, and other NSAIDs, increasing the risk of bleeding, kidney problems, or other side effects. Paracetamol is present in many cold and flu remedies and painkillers, so taking multiple products together can lead to accidental overdose. Always inform your doctor or pharmacist about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, and herbal supplements you are taking before starting Combiflam.
Combiflam tablet is usually taken on an as-needed basis for pain or fever, so a strict dosing schedule may not apply. Do not take extra tablets to make up for a missed dose. If you accidentally take more than the recommended amount, especially if several tablets are taken together or within a short period, seek medical attention immediately, even if you feel well. Paracetamol overdose can cause serious liver damage that may not show symptoms right away, and ibuprofen overdose can lead to stomach upset, bleeding, kidney problems, or other complications. Take the medicine strip or pack with you to the healthcare facility for accurate assessment.
