Common (mostly from dicyclomine's anticholinergic action): dry mouth, blurred vision, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, and constipation. Some people feel weak or nervous. Others: difficulty passing urine, reduced sweating (which can raise body temperature in hot weather), and, occasionally, a fast heartbeat. Serious (seek medical attention): signs of an allergic reaction (rash, swelling of face/lips, difficulty breathing); confusion or hallucinations (more likely in the elderly); severe constipation or inability to urinate. Note: exceeding the recommended paracetamol dose can seriously harm the liver — never take more than directed, and avoid other paracetamol-containing products at the same time.
Take it as directed by your doctor, usually one tablet 1–2 times a day, preferably after food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Use it for short-term relief and stop once the pain settles, unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Yes, dicyclomine can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you, and avoid alcohol, which increases drowsiness.
Yes. Do not exceed the daily paracetamol limit, and do not take CYCLOPAM together with other medicines containing paracetamol (including many cold, flu, and pain products) without checking with a doctor — an overdose can cause serious liver damage.
Avoid or use only under medical advice if you have glaucoma, an enlarged prostate or urinary difficulty, severe bowel problems (obstruction, severe ulcerative colitis), myasthenia gravis, heart disease, or liver/kidney problems. It is not suitable for infants under 6 months, and should be used cautiously in the elderly.
See a doctor if the pain is severe, persistent, or worsening, or if it comes with high fever, vomiting, blood in stools, a hard/swollen abdomen, or difficulty passing urine or stools. These may need proper evaluation rather than symptom relief.
