How DECA DURABOLIN 100MG INJECTION 1 ML Works

• Nandrolone binds to androgen receptors in bone and muscle. In bone, it slows bone loss and supports the laying down of new bone, which helps bones that have thinned after the menopause. In muscle, it increases protein building, so lean body mass and strength improve.
• The decanoate form releases nandrolone slowly from the muscle where it is injected, so its effect lasts for weeks after each injection. For the same reason, side effects do not stop straight away when treatment ends.

Side effects depend on the dose, how often it is given and how long treatment lasts. Fluid retention, which shows as swollen ankles or feet or raised blood pressure, is one of the main effects. Nausea, itching, acne and increased sex drive are also reported, and blood fats and liver tests can change. In women, nandrolone can cause masculinisation: a deeper or hoarse voice, extra facial or body hair, acne, enlargement of the clitoris and irregular or absent periods. Any sign of these should be reported straight away, because voice changes may not reverse. Red blood cell levels can rise too high, so haemoglobin is checked regularly. Liver tumours have been reported, rarely. Pain or swelling at the injection site can occur.

• Store the injection in its original pack to protect it from light, and follow the storage instruction printed on the current Zydus pack. Do not refrigerate or freeze it. Keep it out of the reach of children, and do not use it after the expiry date.

• Tell the doctor about any peanut or soya allergy before the injection
• Report any deepening of the voice or new facial hair straight away
• Keep appointments for blood tests
• Tell the doctor about diabetes, blood thinners or heart disease
• Never use nandrolone to build muscle or for sport

• The manufacturer's leaflet states that the injection can be given without regard to meals and drinks.
• For osteoporosis, a diet with enough calcium, vitamin D and protein, together with weight-bearing exercise, supports bone health.
