DICALIS Tablet 10'S, like all medications, can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, and dry mouth. Uncommon side effects could involve hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in the blood), hypercalciuria (high calcium levels in the urine), allergic reactions (such as rash, itching, or swelling), muscle weakness, fatigue, headache, and increased thirst. In rare cases, kidney stones or irregular heartbeat might occur. If you experience any severe or persistent side effects, discontinue use and consult your doctor immediately. This is not an exhaustive list, and it's important to discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider.

General precautions
Medical supervision requiredUse Dicalis tablet only on the advice of a qualified healthcare professional and for the condition for which it was prescribed.
Dicalis Tablet is primarily used to treat and prevent calcium deficiency. It helps in maintaining healthy bones and teeth and is beneficial in conditions like osteoporosis, rickets, and during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The main ingredient of Dicalis Tablet is Calcium Carbonate. It may contain other ingredients depending on the formulation.
Take Dicalis Tablet as directed by your doctor. Usually, it is taken orally with water. Do not crush or chew the tablet unless advised by your doctor.
Common side effects of Dicalis Tablet may include constipation, stomach upset, nausea, or vomiting. If these side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
It is important to inform your doctor about all the medications you are currently taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements, before starting Dicalis Tablet. Calcium can interact with certain medications.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Store Dicalis Tablet at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children.
Dicalis Tablet can be used during pregnancy if prescribed by your doctor. Calcium is important for both the mother and the developing baby. Consult your doctor for the appropriate dosage.
Dicalis Tablet can be used during breastfeeding if prescribed by your doctor. Calcium is important for both the mother and the baby. Consult your doctor for the appropriate dosage.
Dicalis Tablet can be effective in preventing and treating osteoporosis by providing the necessary calcium to strengthen bones. However, it is often used in combination with other medications and lifestyle changes for optimal results.
The time it takes for Dicalis Tablet to show results can vary depending on the individual and the condition being treated. It may take several weeks or months to see noticeable improvements in bone health. Consistent use as directed by your doctor is important.
The price of Dicalis Tablet can vary depending on the pharmacy and location. Please check with your local pharmacy for the most accurate pricing.
While taking Dicalis Tablet, it is generally recommended to avoid consuming large amounts of foods high in oxalic acid (e.g., spinach, rhubarb) or phytic acid (e.g., whole grains) at the same time, as they can interfere with calcium absorption. Consult your doctor or a registered dietitian for personalized advice.
It's important to inform your doctor about all the medications you are currently taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements, before starting Dicalis Tablet. Calcium can interact with certain medications, reducing their effectiveness or increasing the risk of side effects.
If you have liver disease or a history of liver problems, you must inform your doctor before starting Dicalis tablet. Depending on the active ingredient and the severity of your liver condition, your doctor may adjust the dose, choose an alternative medicine, or arrange regular blood tests to monitor liver function. Do not start or continue the medicine without medical supervision if you develop symptoms such as yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, severe fatigue, or persistent nausea.
Patients with kidney disease should use Dicalis tablet only under close medical supervision. Some active ingredients require dose adjustment or may not be suitable in moderate to severe kidney impairment. Tell your doctor if you have reduced urine output, a history of kidney failure, kidney stones, or are on dialysis. Your doctor may order kidney function tests before and during treatment and may modify your treatment plan based on the results.
Use of Dicalis tablet during pregnancy depends on the specific active ingredient and the stage of pregnancy. In many cases, it is used only if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs any possible risk to the unborn baby. If you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, discuss this with your doctor before starting or continuing Dicalis tablet. Do not start or stop the medicine on your own during pregnancy.
Whether Dicalis tablet can be used safely during breastfeeding depends on whether its active ingredient passes into breast milk and in what amount. Some medicines are compatible with breastfeeding, while others may require caution or an alternative treatment. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed. Your doctor will decide if you should continue, adjust, or avoid Dicalis tablet and may advise monitoring the baby for any unusual symptoms.
Alcohol may interact with many prescription medicines, including those that might be marketed as Dicalis tablet. Drinking alcohol can increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, low blood pressure, or stomach irritation, and may put extra strain on the liver. It is generally advisable to limit or avoid alcohol while taking this medicine. Ask your doctor specifically about alcohol use based on the exact formulation you have been prescribed.
Some patients may experience dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, or reduced alertness while taking Dicalis tablet, depending on the active ingredient and individual sensitivity. Until you know how the medicine affects you, avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing tasks that require full concentration. If you feel sleepy, light‑headed, or have visual disturbances after taking the tablet, do not drive and speak to your doctor.
If you have ever had an allergic reaction to this medicine, to any of its ingredients, or to similar medicines, inform your doctor and pharmacist before taking Dicalis tablet. Signs of a serious allergy include rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, severe dizziness, and difficulty breathing. If any of these occur, stop taking the medicine immediately and seek emergency medical help. Always check the ingredient list on the pack and carry a record of your known drug allergies.
Dicalis tablet may interact with other prescription drugs, over‑the‑counter medicines, herbal products, or dietary supplements. These interactions can change how the medicine works or increase the risk of side effects. Provide your doctor with a complete list of everything you are taking, including vitamins and herbal remedies. Do not start or stop any other medicine while using Dicalis tablet without consulting your healthcare provider.
Possible side effects depend on the exact active ingredient but may include headache, dizziness, stomach upset, nausea, or tiredness. These are often mild and may improve as your body adjusts. However, seek medical advice if side effects are severe, persistent, or unusual. Get urgent help if you notice symptoms such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, severe skin rash, chest pain, sudden weakness, confusion, or signs of liver or kidney problems.
