Most side effects are temporary and disappear as your body adapts to the medication. However, if these side effects persist or cause you concern, it's important to consult your doctor.

Allergies
Contraindicated in NSAID allergyDo not take Dolonex DT if you have ever had an allergic reaction to piroxicam, aspirin, ibuprofen, diclofenac, or any other NSAID.
DOLONEX DT 20MG TABLET 15'S is used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and musculoskeletal disorders.
The common side effects of DOLONEX DT 20MG TABLET 15'S include gastrointestinal upset, gastric ulcers, increased bleeding tendency, skin rash, and headache.
DOLONEX DT 20MG TABLET 15'S should be stored at room temperature, in a dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
DOLONEX DT 20MG TABLET 15'S works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are responsible for inflammation and pain in the body.
The use of DOLONEX DT 20MG TABLET 15'S in children is generally not recommended without specific medical guidance due to limited safety data.
Long-term use of DOLONEX DT 20MG TABLET 15'S should be done under the supervision of a healthcare professional, as it may be associated with certain risks, particularly gastrointestinal complications.
The recommended dosage of DOLONEX DT 20MG TABLET 15'S for adults varies depending on the condition being treated and should be determined by a healthcare professional.
It is important to consult a healthcare professional or pharmacist before taking DOLONEX DT 20MG TABLET 15'S with other medications to check for potential drug interactions.
Dolonex DT contains piroxicam, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation. Doctors commonly prescribe it for conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, musculoskeletal pain, back pain, sprains, strains, and other acute painful or inflammatory conditions. It should only be used under medical supervision and for indications recommended by your doctor.
Dolonex DT works by inhibiting cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that are responsible for the production of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are chemicals that promote pain, inflammation, and swelling. By reducing prostaglandin synthesis, piroxicam decreases pain and inflammation in joints and soft tissues, helping to improve mobility and reduce discomfort.
Dolonex DT can affect liver function in some people. While many patients tolerate it without significant liver problems, NSAIDs including piroxicam have been associated with elevations in liver enzymes and, rarely, serious liver injury. People with pre-existing liver disease, a history of hepatitis, or abnormal liver tests should use Dolonex DT only under close medical supervision. Your doctor may recommend periodic liver function tests if you need to use it for longer durations. Seek medical help if you develop symptoms such as persistent nausea, fatigue, dark urine, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or severe abdominal pain.
Dolonex DT should be used with great caution in patients with kidney impairment. NSAIDs like piroxicam can reduce blood flow to the kidneys and may worsen kidney function, especially in people who are dehydrated, elderly, or already have kidney disease, heart failure, or are taking certain blood pressure medicines such as ACE inhibitors, ARBs, or diuretics. If you have any kidney problem, inform your doctor before taking Dolonex DT. Your doctor may avoid it, adjust therapy, or monitor kidney function tests during treatment. Stop the medicine and seek medical advice if you notice reduced urine output, swelling of legs or feet, or sudden weight gain.
Dolonex DT is generally not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester. NSAIDs like piroxicam can affect the fetal circulation (including the ductus arteriosus), reduce amniotic fluid, and may complicate labor and delivery. In early pregnancy, routine use is also discouraged unless clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor after assessing risks and benefits. If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or think you might be pregnant, do not take Dolonex DT without consulting your obstetrician or healthcare provider.
Information on the excretion of piroxicam into human breast milk is limited. Because NSAIDs can potentially pass into breast milk and may affect a nursing infant, Dolonex DT should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Your doctor will weigh the potential benefit to you against any possible risk to the baby. In some cases, an alternative pain reliever with a better-established safety profile in breastfeeding may be preferred. Do not self-medicate with Dolonex DT if you are breastfeeding; always seek medical advice.
Dolonex DT may cause side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, visual disturbances, or fatigue in some individuals. If you experience any of these symptoms, your ability to drive, operate machinery, or perform tasks requiring alertness may be impaired. Do not drive or use heavy machines until you know how the medicine affects you. If you feel lightheaded, unusually tired, or have blurred vision after taking Dolonex DT, avoid such activities and inform your doctor.
It is advisable to avoid or minimize alcohol consumption while taking Dolonex DT. Both alcohol and NSAIDs like piroxicam can irritate the stomach lining and increase the risk of gastrointestinal side effects such as gastritis, ulcers, and bleeding. Alcohol can also worsen dizziness or drowsiness in some people. If you regularly drink alcohol or have a history of stomach ulcers, liver disease, or alcohol misuse, discuss this with your doctor before using Dolonex DT.
If you have ever had an allergic reaction to aspirin, ibuprofen, diclofenac, piroxicam, or any other NSAID, you should not take Dolonex DT unless your doctor specifically decides it is safe. Allergic reactions can include asthma attacks, wheezing, shortness of breath, nasal polyps, swelling of the face or throat, hives, or severe skin reactions. Such reactions can be serious and potentially life-threatening. Always inform your doctor and pharmacist about any previous drug allergies before starting Dolonex DT.
Common side effects of Dolonex DT include stomach pain, indigestion, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, headache, dizziness, and mild skin rash. These are often mild and may improve as your body adjusts to the medicine. However, you should seek urgent medical attention if you experience black or bloody stools, vomiting blood or material that looks like coffee grounds, severe stomach pain, sudden shortness of breath, chest pain, weakness on one side of the body, slurred speech, severe skin rash or blistering, swelling of the face or throat, or signs of liver or kidney problems such as dark urine, yellowing of the eyes, or reduced urine output.
You should not combine Dolonex DT with other NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, or high-dose aspirin) unless specifically instructed by your doctor, as this increases the risk of stomach ulcers, bleeding, and kidney problems. Dolonex DT can also interact with blood thinners (like warfarin), certain antidepressants, steroids, blood pressure medicines, diuretics, and some other drugs. Always inform your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter drugs, and herbal supplements you are taking. Do not start or stop any medicine while on Dolonex DT without medical advice.
