How DRONIS 30MG TABLET 21'S Works

• The hormones in Dronis suppress the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from the hypothalamus, which reduces the pituitary gland's release of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinising hormone (LH). Without the normal rise in these hormones, an ovarian follicle does not mature and ovulation does not occur.
• Drospirenone also thickens cervical mucus, making it harder for sperm to enter the uterus, and thins the endometrium (the lining of the uterus), making it less receptive to implantation if fertilisation were to occur. These combined actions make Dronis an effective contraceptive when taken consistently and correctly.

Nausea, headache, breast tenderness, bloating, mood changes and breakthrough bleeding or spotting are the most commonly reported effects, particularly in the first few months of use. A blood clot (deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism) is uncommon but serious, and needs immediate medical attention if there is leg swelling or pain, sudden chest pain, breathlessness, or coughing up blood. Severe headache, vision changes, or yellowing of the skin or eyes should also be reported to a doctor promptly.

• If you forget to take DRONIS 30MG TABLET 21'S at the usual time, take it as soon as you remember. If you are more than 12 hours late, skip the missed tablet and continue taking your tablets at the usual time every day. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet.

• Store the tablets in their original pack, below 25°C unless the pack states otherwise, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children. Do not use the tablets after the expiry date printed on the pack.

• Take the tablet at the same time every day to keep hormone levels consistent
• Follow the package leaflet exactly if a tablet is missed, since the correct action depends on timing
• Use condoms as well, since this pill does not protect against sexually transmitted infections
• Tell the doctor about smoking, migraine with aura, or a personal or family history of blood clots before starting
• Seek urgent medical help for leg swelling or pain, sudden chest pain, breathlessness, severe headache, or vision changes
• Attend follow-up appointments so blood pressure and overall suitability can be monitored

• Dronis can be taken with or without food. There is no specific food interaction established, though taking it at the same time each day supports consistent hormone levels.
