How DUVADILAN INJECTION 2 ML Works

• Isoxsuprine stimulates beta-adrenergic receptors on the smooth muscle of the uterus, causing it to relax. In threatened premature labour, this action helps reduce uterine contractions, which can delay delivery and allow more time for fetal development.
• Isoxsuprine also has a vasodilator effect, widening blood vessels and improving blood flow, including to the limbs. This is the basis for its use in peripheral vascular disease, where reduced blood flow can cause pain, cramping and fatigue.

Dizziness, nausea, vomiting, flushing and a drop in blood pressure are the most commonly reported effects. A rash and palpitations have also been reported. A rapid heartbeat, chest pain, breathing difficulty, or signs of fluid in the lungs (such as breathlessness or a persistent cough) need immediate medical attention, since beta-adrenergic medicines used in pregnancy can rarely cause fluid to build up in the lungs.

• Seek immediate medical attention for chest pain, severe breathlessness, or a persistent cough during treatment
