How FERTISURE M TABLET 10'S Works

• Sperm are sensitive to oxidative stress, damage caused by free radicals, the unstable molecules produced during normal metabolism and increased by smoking, infection, heat and some illnesses. Oxidative damage can reduce sperm movement and harm sperm DNA.
• Astaxanthin, lycopene and coenzyme Q10 act as antioxidants that neutralise free radicals. Levocarnitine carries fatty acids into mitochondria, the energy-producing parts of cells, which sperm rely on for movement. Coenzyme Q10 also takes part in mitochondrial energy production. Zinc is needed for normal sperm formation.

The ingredients are usually well tolerated. Nausea, stomach upset, abdominal cramps and loose stools can occur, and taking the tablet after food reduces these. Zinc can leave a metallic taste. Carnitine can cause a fishy body odour, and coenzyme Q10 can cause difficulty sleeping in some people. Carnitine has been associated with seizures in people who already have a seizure disorder. Allergic reactions such as rash, itching or swelling mean the tablets should be stopped and a doctor contacted.

• If you miss a dose of Fertisure M Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

• Store the strip in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and follow the storage instruction printed on the current Sun Pharma pack. Keep it out of the reach of children, and do not use it after the expiry date.

• Take the tablet after a meal
• Keep follow-up appointments and repeat semen tests as advised
• Stop smoking and limit alcohol
• Tell the doctor about warfarin, thyroid tablets or seizures
• Do not take other zinc or carnitine supplements without advice

• Taking Fertisure M after a meal improves absorption of its fat-soluble ingredients. Tomatoes are a dietary source of lycopene, and meat, fish and dairy provide carnitine and zinc.
