Most side effects are temporary and resolve as your body adapts to the medication. If any side effects persist or cause concern, it is recommended to consult your doctor.

Concomitant Medicines and Medical Conditions
Careful review requiredFlexabenz Tablet has pharmacological similarities to tricyclic antidepressants and may interact with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), serotonergic agents, and other central nervous system depressants.
No, FLEXABENZ TABLET 10'S is not a painkiller. It is a muscle relaxant that is used to relieve muscle spasms (uncontrolled movements). Muscle spasms can be due to an injury, sprain, or any underlying medical condition affecting the nervous system.
FLEXABENZ TABLET 10'S is used to relax muscles and relieve pain and discomfort caused by strains, sprains, and other muscle injuries. It is generally prescribed along with rest and physical therapy.
This medicine is highly effective in giving relief from muscle spasms (tightness) and discomfort associated with it. Some people may start to feel the effects within 30 minutes, and some within an hour. This depends on your condition, dose prescribed and your response to treatment.
Some of the side effects of this medicine are excessive drowsiness, headache, dryness in the mouth, and tiredness.
It's best to avoid alcohol while you are taking cyclobenzaprine because it can make the side effects like dizziness and drowsiness much worse.
Flexabenz Tablet is a prescription skeletal muscle relaxant containing cyclobenzaprine. It is used as an adjunct to rest and physical therapy for the short‑term relief of muscle spasm associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions such as back pain, neck strain, and soft‑tissue injuries. It helps reduce muscle spasm, pain, and stiffness but does not replace rehabilitation measures like exercise and posture correction.
Flexabenz Tablet acts primarily at the level of the central nervous system, particularly the brainstem, to reduce tonic somatic motor activity. This leads to a decrease in skeletal muscle hyperactivity and spasm. It has pharmacological similarities to tricyclic antidepressants and also exhibits anticholinergic and sedative properties. It does not act directly on skeletal muscles or the neuromuscular junction.
Flexabenz Tablet is generally intended for short‑term use, typically for a limited period in acute musculoskeletal conditions. The exact duration should be decided by your doctor based on your symptoms, response to treatment, and overall health status. You should not continue the medicine beyond the prescribed period or restart it without medical advice, as prolonged use may increase the risk of side effects such as sedation and anticholinergic reactions.
Flexabenz Tablet is primarily indicated for short‑term management of acute muscle spasm. Evidence for long‑term benefit in chronic back pain or chronic muscle conditions is limited, while the risk of adverse effects increases with prolonged use. For chronic pain, your doctor may recommend other pharmacological and non‑pharmacological strategies. Do not use Flexabenz long term unless specifically advised and monitored by a specialist.
Common side effects of Flexabenz Tablet include drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, fatigue, headache, and blurred vision. Some people may also experience constipation, nausea, or mild confusion. These effects are usually dose‑related and may lessen as your body adjusts to the medicine. If side effects are severe, persistent, or interfere with daily activities, contact your doctor for reassessment.
Flexabenz Tablet can cause drowsiness, dizziness, and blurred vision, which may impair your ability to concentrate and react quickly. You should avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing tasks that require full alertness until you know how the medicine affects you. If you feel sleepy, light‑headed, or visually impaired, do not engage in such activities and inform your doctor.
No, combining Flexabenz Tablet with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants, such as benzodiazepines, strong painkillers, sedating antihistamines, or certain sleep medicines, can significantly increase drowsiness, dizziness, and the risk of respiratory depression or accidents. Alcohol should be avoided while taking Flexabenz. Always inform your doctor about all medicines and substances you use so that potential interactions can be assessed.
Data on the use of cyclobenzaprine in pregnancy are limited. Flexabenz Tablet should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus, and this decision must be made by a qualified physician. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or suspect you might be pregnant, discuss alternative options and the risk–benefit balance with your doctor before starting or continuing Flexabenz.
Information on the excretion of cyclobenzaprine into human breast milk is limited. Because of the potential for sedation and other adverse effects in the breastfed infant, Flexabenz Tablet should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Your doctor may advise monitoring the infant for excessive sleepiness, poor feeding, or unusual behavior, or may recommend an alternative treatment. Do not use Flexabenz while breastfeeding without medical supervision.
Flexabenz Tablet is generally contraindicated in patients with recent use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), certain cardiac conduction abnormalities, recent myocardial infarction, or significant arrhythmias. It should be used cautiously or avoided in individuals with severe hepatic impairment, uncontrolled hyperthyroidism, narrow‑angle glaucoma, urinary retention, or severe prostatic hypertrophy. Elderly patients and those with multiple comorbidities are at higher risk of side effects and require careful assessment. Always provide your full medical history to your doctor before starting this medicine.
If you miss a dose of Flexabenz Tablet, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one, as this may increase the risk of side effects such as excessive drowsiness or dizziness. If you frequently forget doses, discuss a suitable dosing plan with your doctor.
