Flexural D is generally used for short‑term relief of acute musculoskeletal pain and muscle spasm, such as in low back pain, neck pain, or muscle strain. It usually combines a pain‑relieving anti‑inflammatory component with a muscle relaxant to reduce both pain and muscle tightness. The exact approved uses can vary by country and formulation, so follow your doctor’s specific advice.
Flexural D typically works through two main actions. The anti‑inflammatory component (often an NSAID) reduces pain and swelling by blocking prostaglandin production, which is involved in inflammation. The muscle relaxant component acts on the central nervous system to decrease excessive muscle tone and relieve spasm. Together, these effects can improve mobility and comfort in acute musculoskeletal conditions.
People with liver disease or a history of abnormal liver function tests should use Flexural D only under close medical supervision, if at all. Some components of the medicine are metabolized in the liver and may increase liver strain or alter liver enzymes. Your doctor may decide to avoid it, use an alternative, or monitor your liver function with blood tests. Never start or continue Flexural D with known liver disease without consulting your healthcare provider.
Caution is required in patients with kidney impairment. Many NSAIDs can reduce blood flow to the kidneys and may worsen kidney function, especially in people with pre‑existing kidney disease, dehydration, heart failure, or those taking certain blood pressure medicines. If you have kidney problems, your doctor will weigh the risks and benefits, may prescribe a different medicine, or use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration with monitoring. Do not self‑medicate with Flexural D if you have kidney disease.
Flexural D should not be used in pregnancy unless your doctor clearly decides that it is necessary. NSAID‑containing products are generally avoided, especially in the third trimester, because they can affect the baby’s circulation and the mother’s labor. Muscle relaxants may also have limited safety data in pregnancy. If you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are planning a pregnancy, discuss safer alternatives with your doctor before using Flexural D.
The safety of Flexural D in breastfeeding depends on its exact ingredients and their transfer into breast milk. Some NSAIDs are considered relatively safer than others, while certain muscle relaxants may cause sedation or feeding difficulties in the infant. Because formulations differ, you should not use Flexural D while breastfeeding without specific approval from your doctor, who will consider the benefits, potential risks to the baby, and possible alternative treatments.
Flexural D can cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or reduced alertness in some people, mainly due to the muscle relaxant component. Until you know how the medicine affects you, avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing tasks that require full concentration. If you feel sleepy, light‑headed, or unsteady, do not drive and speak with your doctor about adjusting or changing your treatment.
Alcohol should generally be avoided or kept to a strict minimum while taking Flexural D. Alcohol can increase drowsiness and dizziness caused by the muscle relaxant and may also raise the risk of stomach irritation, gastrointestinal bleeding, or liver strain when combined with NSAIDs. If you regularly drink alcohol or have a history of alcohol‑related liver disease, inform your doctor before starting Flexural D.
If you have a history of drug allergies, especially to NSAIDs, aspirin, or muscle relaxants, or if you have asthma that worsens with painkillers, inform your doctor before taking Flexural D. Some people with aspirin‑sensitive asthma can experience bronchospasm or severe allergic reactions with NSAIDs. Stop the medicine and seek urgent medical help if you develop rash, itching, swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, or severe dizziness after taking a dose.
You should not combine Flexural D with other NSAID‑containing painkillers or additional muscle relaxants unless your doctor specifically instructs you to do so. Using multiple NSAIDs together increases the risk of stomach ulcers, bleeding, kidney problems, and other side effects. Combining muscle relaxants or sedating medicines can lead to excessive drowsiness, confusion, or impaired coordination. Always check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding any over‑the‑counter or prescription medicine.
If you miss a dose of Flexural D, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one, as this may increase the risk of side effects. If you frequently forget doses, speak with your doctor about strategies to improve adherence or whether a different regimen is more suitable.
