• Each ingredient targets a different symptom. Paracetamol lowers fever and relieves pain by reducing chemical messengers (prostaglandins) in the brain that signal pain and raise temperature. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that narrows swollen blood vessels in the nose, opening up blocked nasal passages. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that blocks histamine, drying up a runny nose and reducing sneezing and itching (it can also cause drowsiness). Sodium citrate helps thin and loosen mucus so it clears more easily. Together they give broad symptom relief for colds and flu.

Common: mild drowsiness or sleepiness, dry mouth, and occasionally nausea or stomach discomfort. Phenylephrine may cause mild restlessness or a faster heartbeat in some children. Serious (seek medical attention): signs of an allergic reaction (rash, swelling of the face/lips, difficulty breathing); a fast or irregular heartbeat; or unusual drowsiness or agitation. Important: exceeding the recommended paracetamol dose can seriously harm the liver — never give more than directed, and do not give other paracetamol-containing products at the same time.
