How FOLVITE TABLET 45'S Works

• Folic acid is converted in the body into its active form, which is needed to convert homocysteine, an amino acid, into methionine, another amino acid used in many body processes.
• Folic acid is also needed for the synthesis of DNA and RNA, the genetic material involved in cell division, which is why adequate folate is especially important during pregnancy and other periods of rapid cell growth. A folic acid deficiency during pregnancy can lead to neural tube defects affecting the developing brain and spinal cord.

Weakness, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea, bloating and flatulence are the most commonly reported effects. A severe allergic reaction is uncommon but needs immediate medical attention if it occurs, including wheezing, facial swelling or difficulty breathing.

• Store the tablets in their original pack, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children.

• Take at the same time each day for consistency
• Take with food if it causes stomach upset
• Tell the doctor about a coronary stent, cancer, or vitamin B12 deficiency before starting
• Mention lactose intolerance to the doctor, since this tablet contains lactose
• Avoid large amounts of alcohol, which can interfere with folic acid absorption

• Folvite can be taken with or without food. Large amounts of alcohol should be avoided, since alcohol can interfere with folic acid absorption.
