Gabaneuron NT 100mg Tablet is primarily used to treat neuropathic pain, often associated with nerve damage due to diabetes, shingles, or spinal cord injury.
Take Gabaneuron NT 100mg Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not change the dosage or stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor.
Common side effects may include dizziness, sleepiness, fatigue, blurred vision, dry mouth, and weight gain. If these side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
Gabaneuron NT 100mg Tablet can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how the medicine affects you.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Inform your doctor about all the medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements, to avoid potential drug interactions.
It may take several weeks for Gabaneuron NT 100mg Tablet to provide noticeable pain relief. Continue taking the medication as prescribed, even if you don't feel immediate relief.
Gabaneuron NT 100mg Tablet contains Gabapentin and Nortriptyline as its active ingredients.
Do not stop taking Gabaneuron NT 100mg Tablet suddenly, as it may cause withdrawal symptoms. Your doctor will gradually reduce the dosage before you completely stop taking the medication.
Gabaneuron NT 100mg Tablet is not generally considered addictive, but it is important to take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Gabaneuron NT 100mg Tablet, as it can increase drowsiness and other side effects.
Store Gabaneuron NT 100mg Tablet at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
Gabaneuron NT 100mg contains a combination of Gabapentin and Nortriptyline. Other Gabapentin brands contain only Gabapentin. The addition of Nortriptyline helps in managing neuropathic pain more effectively in some patients.
Gabaneuron NT 100mg Tablet is primarily used for neuropathic pain. While it might help with some types of back pain that have a neuropathic component, it is not a general painkiller for all types of back pain. Consult your doctor for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
In case of an overdose, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an overdose may include drowsiness, slurred speech, blurred vision, and difficulty breathing.
Gabaneuron NT 100 is generally prescribed for neuropathic (nerve) pain, such as pain due to diabetes, nerve injury, or post-herpetic neuralgia, and sometimes for other nerve-related conditions as decided by a doctor. It is not meant for routine pain like simple headaches or minor sprains.
Gabaneuron NT 100 usually contains gabapentin and nortriptyline. Gabapentin reduces abnormal electrical activity in nerves and decreases the release of certain pain-signaling chemicals. Nortriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant, modulates neurotransmitters like serotonin and norepinephrine involved in pain pathways. Together, they help reduce the intensity and frequency of nerve pain.
If you have liver disease or a history of liver problems, you should inform your doctor before taking Gabaneuron NT 100. Nortriptyline is processed in the liver, and dose adjustments or closer monitoring may be required. Do not use this medicine without medical advice if you have moderate to severe liver impairment, and report symptoms such as yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or persistent fatigue.
Gabapentin is mainly eliminated through the kidneys, so people with reduced kidney function may need a lower dose or longer intervals between doses. If you have chronic kidney disease or are on dialysis, your doctor will decide whether Gabaneuron NT 100 is appropriate and how it should be adjusted. Never change your dose on your own, and attend regular follow-ups to monitor kidney function.
Use of Gabaneuron NT 100 during pregnancy should be based on a careful risk–benefit assessment by your doctor. Data on gabapentin and nortriptyline in pregnancy are limited, and there may be potential risks to the developing baby. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or think you might be pregnant, discuss this with your doctor before starting or continuing the medicine. Do not stop suddenly without medical guidance, as uncontrolled pain or seizures can also pose risks.
Both gabapentin and nortriptyline can pass into breast milk in varying amounts. The decision to use Gabaneuron NT 100 while breastfeeding depends on the clinical need of the mother and the potential risk to the infant. Your doctor may advise close monitoring of the baby for excessive sleepiness, poor feeding, or unusual behavior, or may suggest an alternative treatment. Always consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are breastfeeding.
Alcohol can increase the drowsiness, dizziness, and lack of coordination caused by Gabaneuron NT 100 and may raise the risk of accidents or falls. It can also worsen mood changes and impair judgment. It is generally advisable to avoid or strictly limit alcohol while on this medicine. If you do drink, discuss it with your doctor and never drive or operate machinery after combining alcohol with this medication.
Gabaneuron NT 100 can cause sleepiness, dizziness, blurred vision, and slowed reaction time in some people, especially when starting treatment or after dose changes. Until you know how the medicine affects you, you should avoid driving, riding a bike, or operating heavy machinery. If you feel drowsy, lightheaded, or less alert, do not engage in activities that require full attention.
If you have ever had an allergic reaction to gabapentin, nortriptyline, other tricyclic antidepressants, or any ingredient in Gabaneuron NT 100, inform your doctor before taking it. Signs of allergy can include rash, itching, swelling of the face or tongue, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. If any of these occur after taking the medicine, stop it immediately and seek emergency medical care.
You should not stop Gabaneuron NT 100 abruptly without consulting your doctor. Sudden discontinuation can lead to withdrawal-like symptoms such as anxiety, sweating, sleep disturbance, nausea, or a rebound increase in pain, and in some people may increase the risk of seizures. Your doctor will usually advise a gradual dose reduction over days to weeks if the medicine needs to be stopped.
Common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, weight gain, and sometimes changes in mood or concentration. Most are mild and improve as your body adjusts. However, if you notice severe mood changes, suicidal thoughts, chest pain, irregular heartbeat, difficulty urinating, eye pain, severe rash, or swelling of the face or tongue, seek medical help immediately.
Gabaneuron NT 100 can interact with other medicines that cause drowsiness, such as sleeping pills, anti-anxiety drugs, opioid painkillers, some antihistamines, and other antidepressants. Nortriptyline can also interact with certain heart medicines and drugs that affect heart rhythm, as well as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Always provide your doctor with a complete list of prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, and herbal supplements before starting Gabaneuron NT 100.
