Glimed MF 3/1000SR Tablet is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone are not enough to control blood sugar levels.
Glimed MF 3/1000SR Tablet is a combination of two medicines, glimepiride and metformin. Glimepiride works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower blood sugar. Metformin works by decreasing glucose production in the liver, decreasing absorption of glucose from the intestines, and increasing sensitivity to insulin.
Common side effects of Glimed MF 3/1000SR Tablet include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite.
Glimed MF 3/1000SR Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
Drinking alcohol is not recommended while taking Glimed MF 3/1000SR Tablet as it can lower blood sugar levels and cause other side effects.
Store Glimed MF 3/1000SR Tablet at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
If you miss a dose of Glimed MF 3/1000SR Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose.
Serious side effects of Glimed MF 3/1000SR Tablet are rare, but can include lactic acidosis (build-up of lactic acid in the blood), hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), and liver problems. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any serious side effects.
Glimed MF 3/1000SR Tablet can interact with certain other medications, such as insulin, sulfonylureas, and some antibiotics. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications.
While taking Glimed MF 3/1000SR Tablet, you should avoid drinking alcohol, excessive exercise, and skipping meals for long periods.
