Glinil M Tablet 10's is a combination of two medicines: Glimepiride and Metformin. It is used to control high blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus, when diet and exercise are not enough on their own.
Glimepiride belongs to the class of medicines called sulfonylureas, which works by increasing the release of insulin from the pancreas. Metformin belongs to the class of medicines called biguanides, which works by decreasing the amount of glucose produced by the liver and improving the body's sensitivity to insulin.
Common side effects of Glinil M Tablet 10's may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and headache. Talk to your doctor if these side effects persist or become severe.
Alcohol should be avoided while taking Glinil M Tablet 10's as it can increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
If you miss a dose of Glinil M Tablet 10's, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose at the same time.
