How GRILINCTUS L SYRUP 100 ML Works

• Levocloperastine acts in two places. Centrally, it reduces the activity of the cough centre in the brainstem, so a dry cough is triggered less often. Peripherally, it acts on receptors in the windpipe and bronchi that start the cough reflex when irritated.
• Published reviews describe it as having no opioid-like pain-relieving action and no dependence potential, and report that it causes less drowsiness than codeine and some other cough suppressants in comparative studies.

Levocloperastine is usually well tolerated. Nausea, stomach upset, dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness and headache can occur in some people. Allergic reactions, such as rash, itching, swelling of the face or throat, or difficulty breathing, need emergency care, and the syrup should be stopped.
