How HYOCIMAX S TABLET 10'S Works

• Acetylcholine acts on muscarinic receptors in the walls of the gut, bladder and bile ducts, making the muscle contract, and on glands, making them secrete. Hyoscyamine blocks these receptors. The muscle relaxes, spasm and cramping ease, and gut movement and stomach secretions are reduced.
• The same action on receptors elsewhere in the body explains its side effects: dry mouth, reduced sweating, blurred vision, a faster heartbeat, constipation and difficulty passing urine.

Common effects are dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, difficulty or hesitancy passing urine, and reduced sweating. Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, flushing, a fast heartbeat, palpitations and sensitivity to light can also occur. Confusion, agitation, hallucinations and unusual behaviour have been reported, especially in older people and those who are sensitive to anticholinergic medicines. These usually settle within one to two days after stopping. Eye pain with blurred vision, inability to pass urine, a racing heartbeat or confusion need prompt medical attention.

• Store the strip in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and follow the storage instruction printed on the current Zydus pack. Keep it out of the reach of children, and do not use it after the expiry date.

• Check the pack for whether the tablet is dissolved under the tongue or swallowed
• Avoid overheating and drink enough water in hot weather
• Do not drive if drowsy or if vision is blurred
• Tell the doctor about glaucoma, prostate problems or difficulty passing urine
• Take antacids at a different time
• Seek help for eye pain, inability to pass urine or confusion

• No specific food interaction is known. Alcohol can add to drowsiness and dizziness. Fibre and fluids can help with constipation.
