ICUFOS 4GM INJECTION is primarily used to treat uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by certain susceptible bacteria, particularly Escherichia coli (E. coli), which is a common pathogen responsible for UTIs. It may also be prescribed for other bacterial infections, but its use is generally limited to UTIs.
ICUFOS 4GM INJECTION is available in several forms, including oral granules, sachets, and intravenous (IV) preparations. For uncomplicated UTIs, it is often given as a single oral dose. A course of IV treatment may be prescribed for more severe or complicated infections.
ICUFOS 4GM INJECTION is primarily used for the treatment of UTIs, not for prevention. If you experience recurrent UTIs, your physician may suggest other preventive measures or medications.
ICUFOS 4GM INJECTION can still be effective against some antibiotic-resistant bacteria, including certain strains of multidrug-resistant E. coli. However, susceptibility testing is necessary to determine if the specific bacterial strain causing the infection is susceptible to this drug.
It is generally recommended to avoid alcohol consumption while taking antibiotics, including ICUFOS 4GM INJECTION. Alcohol can interfere with the effectiveness of antibiotics and may also exacerbate certain side effects.

Take ICUFOS 4GM INJECTION exactly as your physician prescribes and complete the full course of treatment, even if you start feeling better before the medication is finished. Incomplete courses of antibiotics can contribute to antibiotic resistance and the recurrence of infections. If you suspect you have a bacterial infection or UTI symptoms, it's necessary to consult your physician for proper evaluation and treatment recommendations.
