Composition
Like all medicines, INSUGEN N 40IU VIAL 10 ML can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. **Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):** * Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): This is the most common side effect. Symptoms can include sweating, shaking, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, hunger, blurred vision, headache, mood changes, confusion, or seizures. Severe hypoglycemia can be dangerous and may require medical assistance. * Injection site reactions: Redness, swelling, itching, or pain at the injection site are common. These reactions are usually mild and clear up within a few days or weeks. * Lipohypertrophy: Thickening of the skin at the injection site. To help prevent this, rotate injection sites with each injection. **Uncommon side effects (may affect up to 1 in 100 people):** * Lipodystrophy: Dimpling or pitting of the skin at the injection site. This is less common than lipohypertrophy but can still occur with repeated injections in the same area. Rotating injection sites can help. * Allergic reactions: Skin rash, itching, hives. **Rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people):** * Systemic allergic reaction: This is a serious, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction that can include difficulty breathing, wheezing, rapid heartbeat, sweating, and loss of consciousness. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience these symptoms. * Peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage): This can cause pain, numbness, or tingling in the hands or feet. * Edema (swelling): Swelling of the ankles and feet can occur, especially when starting insulin therapy. **Very rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):** * Visual disturbances: Changes in vision can occur at the start of insulin therapy but are usually temporary. **Other possible side effects:** * Weight gain: Insulin can cause weight gain. * Sodium retention: Insulin can cause the body to retain sodium, which can lead to swelling and high blood pressure. **Important Information:** * This is not a complete list of all possible side effects. If you experience any unusual symptoms while taking INSUGEN N 40IU VIAL 10 ML, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. * Inform your doctor immediately if you experience symptoms of a serious allergic reaction or severe hypoglycemia.
