How INTAGESIC MR TABLET 10'S Works

• Chlorzoxazone is a centrally acting muscle relaxant. It works in the spinal cord and brain to reduce reflexes that cause muscles to tighten, easing muscle spasm and stiffness.
• Diclofenac is an NSAID that blocks cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes, lowering the prostaglandins that cause pain, swelling, and inflammation. Paracetamol acts mainly in the brain to relieve pain and bring down fever, with little anti-inflammatory effect of its own. Together the three provide relief from painful, spasm-related musculoskeletal conditions.

Most side effects are mild and often settle as the body adjusts. A doctor should be told if any effect is severe or persistent. Chlorzoxazone can harmlessly colour the urine orange to reddish-purple; this is not dangerous by itself.

• Nausea or stomach upset
• Stomach pain or heartburn
• Drowsiness or dizziness
• Headache
• Loss of appetite

• If you miss a dose of Intagesic MR Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

• Store the tablets in their original pack, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children and pets.

• Take exactly as prescribed and after food to minimise stomach upset
• Avoid activities requiring alertness, such as driving, until the effect of the medicine is known
• Tell the prescriber about all other pain relievers or muscle relaxants being used
• Seek prompt medical advice for allergic reactions, severe stomach pain, or changes in bowel habits
• Dispose of any unused medication through a pharmacist rather than in household waste or drains

• It is generally best taken after meals to minimise stomach upset from the diclofenac component. Large amounts of alcohol should be avoided, since it can increase the risk of liver problems and intensify drowsiness.
