Allergies
CONTRAINDICATED IF ALLERGICDo not use Ketofly soap if you have a known allergy to ketoconazole, other imidazole antifungals, or any excipient listed on the product label.
Ketofly Soap is an antifungal medication used to treat skin infections such as dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, and ringworm. It works by stopping the growth of fungus.
The main ingredient of Ketofly Soap is Ketoconazole, which is an antifungal medication.
Wet the affected area with water and apply Ketofly Soap. Leave it on for 2-3 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with water.
Common side effects of Ketofly Soap may include skin irritation, dryness, or itching. If these side effects persist or become severe, contact your doctor.
Consult your doctor before using Ketofly Soap during pregnancy.
It is best to consult a doctor before using Ketofly Soap for children.
Store Ketofly Soap at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
Use Ketofly Soap as directed by your doctor. It is generally not recommended to use it every day.
It may take a few days to a few weeks to see results with Ketofly Soap, depending on the severity of the infection.
If you miss a dose of Ketofly Soap, use it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.
Ketofly Soap may interact with other medications, so tell your doctor about all the medications you are taking.
Consult your doctor before using Ketofly Soap on your face, as it may cause irritation in some people.
Some other brands of Ketoconazole include Nizoral and Keto-Care.
Ketofly Soap is not a primary treatment for acne, but it may help in some cases where fungal infection is contributing.
Continue to use Ketofly Soap for as long as your doctor has told you to, even if your symptoms improve.
Ketofly soap is generally used to help manage and prevent superficial fungal infections of the skin, such as ringworm, jock itch, athlete’s foot, and pityriasis versicolor, depending on the product’s approved indications. It helps reduce fungal growth, itching, scaling, and redness, and supports skin hygiene in people prone to these infections. Always check the product label and consult a healthcare professional for your specific condition.
Wet the affected skin with water, apply Ketofly soap, and gently work it into a lather over the affected and nearby areas. Leave the lather on the skin for the duration recommended by your doctor or as per the package instructions, then rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Avoid scrubbing harshly, and do not use it on the eyes, inside the mouth, or on other mucous membranes. Do not exceed the frequency of use recommended on the label or by your doctor.
In some cases, doctors may advise using Ketofly soap on the face or scalp for certain fungal conditions, but this should only be done under medical guidance because facial and scalp skin can be more sensitive. Avoid contact with the eyes and do not use it as a regular cosmetic face wash or shampoo unless your healthcare provider specifically recommends it. If irritation, redness, or burning increases, stop using it and seek medical advice.
Ketofly soap is intended for external use, and systemic absorption of the antifungal component from intact skin is usually low. However, safety data in pregnancy may be limited, and it is best to use it only if clearly needed and after consulting a doctor. Pregnant women should avoid prolonged or extensive use without medical supervision and should not apply it on large areas of damaged or broken skin. Always inform your healthcare provider that you are pregnant before starting any medicated soap.
During breastfeeding, Ketofly soap can sometimes be used on areas of the body away from the breasts if recommended by a healthcare professional. It should not be applied directly on the nipples or areola, and the baby’s skin should not come into contact with treated areas until they are thoroughly rinsed and dried. Because data on excretion into breast milk from topical use are limited, breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctor before using Ketofly soap, especially over large body areas or for long durations.
Ketofly soap is used externally, and only minimal amounts of the active antifungal are expected to be absorbed through intact skin. Therefore, it is generally considered to have a low risk of systemic effects on the liver or kidneys when used as directed. However, people with severe liver or kidney disease should still inform their doctor before using any medicated product, including Ketofly soap, particularly if they are also taking oral antifungal medicines that can affect these organs.
If you have a known allergy to ketoconazole, other imidazole antifungals, or any ingredient listed on the Ketofly soap package, you should not use it. People with very sensitive or eczema-prone skin may experience irritation, burning, or dryness. It is advisable to do a small patch test on a limited area of skin before regular use. If you notice rash, intense itching, swelling, or blistering, stop using the soap immediately and seek medical advice, as these may be signs of an allergic reaction.
Ketofly soap is applied externally and is not expected to interact with alcohol consumed by mouth or to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. It does not cause drowsiness or impair coordination when used as directed on the skin. However, if you are taking oral antifungal medicines or other systemic drugs at the same time, you should follow your doctor’s advice regarding alcohol use and driving, as those medicines may have their own precautions.
The time to improvement varies with the type and severity of the fungal infection and individual skin response. Some people notice reduced itching and scaling within a few days, but complete clearance of discoloration or lesions can take several weeks. It is important to continue using Ketofly soap for the duration recommended by your doctor or as indicated on the package, even if symptoms improve earlier, to help reduce the risk of recurrence. If there is no improvement or if the condition worsens, consult a healthcare professional.
Use of Ketofly soap in children should be guided by a pediatrician or dermatologist. Children’s skin is more delicate and may absorb topical medications differently than adults. Do not use Ketofly soap on infants or young children without medical advice. If a doctor recommends it, follow the prescribed duration and frequency carefully, avoid contact with eyes and mouth, and monitor the child’s skin for any signs of irritation or allergy.
Ketofly soap is a medicated antifungal soap and is not intended to be used indefinitely as a routine cosmetic bath soap unless your doctor specifically advises ongoing preventive use. Prolonged, unnecessary use may increase the risk of skin irritation or alter the normal skin flora. Once the fungal infection is controlled, your doctor may suggest reducing the frequency or switching back to a gentle, non-medicated cleanser for daily hygiene.
