How LACTARE CAPSULE 30'S Works

• Several ingredients in this combination are traditionally associated with supporting prolactin, the hormone that drives milk production, and with supporting the let-down reflex that releases milk during feeding. Shatavari and fenugreek are the components most closely linked to this traditional galactagogue effect.
• Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that may help the body manage the physical stress of the postpartum period, which can itself affect milk supply. Frequent breastfeeding or pumping remains the strongest signal for the body to make more milk, and this supplement is intended to work alongside that.

Lactare is generally well tolerated. Mild stomach discomfort, nausea, bloating or gas can occur, particularly if taken on an empty stomach. An allergic reaction to any ingredient is rare but needs immediate medical attention if it occurs. Any unusual symptom in the breastfed infant, such as a rash, unusual sleepiness, irritability or a change in feeding, should also be reported to the infant's doctor.

• If you miss a dose of Lactare Capsule, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one.

• Store the capsules in their original pack, out of the reach of children and pets. Keep them at room temperature. Do not use the capsules after the expiry date printed on the pack.

• Take the capsule with food to reduce the chance of stomach upset
• Continue frequent breastfeeding or pumping alongside this supplement, since regular milk removal itself signals the body to produce more milk
• Stay well hydrated and maintain a balanced diet while breastfeeding
• Tell the doctor about high blood pressure, a thyroid condition, a bleeding disorder or liver or kidney disease before starting
• Watch the baby for any unusual symptom, such as a rash, unusual sleepiness or a change in feeding
• Speak to a lactation consultant if low milk supply persists, rather than increasing the amount independently

• Lactare can be taken with or without food, though taking it with food can reduce the chance of stomach upset.
• No specific alcohol interaction has been established, but alcohol can itself reduce milk let-down and is best limited while breastfeeding.
