Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them.

Allergies
UNSAFE IF ALLERGICDo not use Levolin 100 inhaler if you are known to be allergic to levosalbutamol, salbutamol, or any component of the inhaler device.
Both LEVOLIN INHALER and Albuterol belong to the same class of medicines and are used for quick relief in symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) such as wheezing, shortness of breath and coughing. LEVOLIN INHALER contains the active form of Albuterol known as R-albuterol. On the other hand, Albuterol contains a mixture of equal amounts of R-albuterol (active form) and S-albuterol (inactive form of Albuterol). LEVOLIN INHALER, being the active form may have lesser side effects when compared to the inactive form.
Taking a higher than the recommended dose of LEVOLIN INHALER may cause seizures, chest pain, nervousness, headache, dry mouth, nausea, dizziness and lack of energy. High doses of LEVOLIN INHALER may also cause fast, irregular or pounding heartbeat, uncontrollable shaking of any part of the body and difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep. In any such case, seek immediate medical attention.
Yes, it is considered safe, but its use depends on the severity of your heart problem. If you experience chest pain or any other symptom of worsening heart disease while taking LEVOLIN INHALER, seek immediate medical advice.
LEVOLIN INHALER may cause blood sugar levels to rise. Therefore, your doctor may adjust your dose of insulin or antidiabetic medicines. Keep a regular check on your blood glucose levels and do not miss any dose. Consult your doctor if you experience a sudden rise in blood sugar levels.
Yes, it could be due to LEVOLIN INHALER. Feeling shaky is a common side effect of LEVOLIN INHALER which usually goes away after some time. For headaches, drink plenty of water, get sufficient rest and avoid alcohol. Usually, headaches go away after a week. If they persist for a long time, contact your doctor.
Use LEVOLIN INHALER as and when you need it. LEVOLIN INHALER relieves the symptoms of asthma like coughing, shortness of breath and tightness in the chest. You can also take it to prevent asthma attacks in circumstances where you know it may occur (e.g., after strenuous exercise or unavoidable exposure to allergen).
No, you should not smoke while taking LEVOLIN INHALER. Smoking irritates the lungs. The medicine may make breathing more difficult, especially in patients who have asthma. Take advice from your doctor if you are finding it hard to avoid smoking.
Levolin 100 inhaler is generally used to relieve and prevent bronchospasm in conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It helps relax the muscles in the airways, making it easier to breathe and reducing symptoms like wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. It is usually considered a quick-relief or rescue inhaler for sudden breathing difficulty, and may also be used before exercise or exposure to triggers if advised by a doctor.
Levolin 100 inhaler typically contains levosalbutamol, a selective beta-2 adrenergic agonist. When inhaled, it acts mainly on beta-2 receptors in the smooth muscles of the airways, causing these muscles to relax. This bronchodilation widens the air passages, improves airflow, and helps relieve symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath. Because it is inhaled, the medicine acts directly in the lungs, which allows for a faster onset of action compared with many oral medications.
Levolin 100 inhaler should be used exactly as prescribed by your doctor. In many patients it is used on an as-needed basis for relief of acute symptoms, while in some cases it may be recommended at specific times, such as before exercise. You should not increase the frequency or number of inhalations on your own. If you find that you need to use Levolin 100 inhaler more often than your doctor advised, or your symptoms are not controlled, you should seek medical review, as this may indicate that your asthma or COPD is not adequately controlled and that your maintenance treatment may need adjustment.
The safety of Levolin 100 inhaler in pregnancy depends on the individual situation. Short-acting bronchodilators like levosalbutamol are often used in pregnancy when clearly needed, because uncontrolled asthma can be harmful to both the mother and the baby. However, any use in pregnancy should be under the supervision of a doctor who will weigh the potential benefits against possible risks. Do not start, stop, or change the use of Levolin 100 inhaler during pregnancy without consulting your obstetrician or respiratory specialist.
Levosalbutamol, the usual active ingredient in Levolin 100 inhaler, is expected to reach breast milk in very small amounts when used by inhalation. In many cases, inhaled bronchodilators are considered compatible with breastfeeding when clinically necessary. However, the decision should be individualized. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed so that they can assess the benefits and any potential risks, monitor the baby if needed, and adjust your treatment plan accordingly.
Levolin 100 inhaler is primarily delivered to the lungs, and only a portion is absorbed into the bloodstream. In general, no specific dose adjustment guidelines are universally established for mild to moderate liver impairment, but caution is advised. People with significant liver disease should inform their doctor before using this inhaler. The doctor will consider liver function, other medications, and overall health before deciding whether Levolin 100 inhaler is appropriate and how closely you should be monitored.
Inhaled levosalbutamol is not primarily eliminated through the kidneys in the same way as some systemic drugs, but systemic absorption does occur. For most patients with mild to moderate kidney impairment, Levolin 100 inhaler may still be used with caution under medical supervision. In severe kidney disease, the doctor will carefully evaluate the risks and benefits, consider other medications you are taking, and monitor for side effects such as changes in heart rate or blood potassium levels. Always inform your healthcare provider about any kidney problems before starting this inhaler.
Levolin 100 inhaler does not usually impair the ability to drive or operate machinery in most people. However, some individuals may experience side effects such as dizziness, tremor, headache, or palpitations, especially soon after inhalation. If you feel dizzy, shaky, unusually anxious, or unwell after using the inhaler, you should avoid driving, cycling, or operating heavy machinery until you feel normal again. If these symptoms persist or are severe, consult your doctor for further advice.
There is no well-established direct interaction between moderate alcohol intake and Levolin 100 inhaler. However, alcohol itself can sometimes worsen asthma symptoms in susceptible individuals and may increase heart rate or cause flushing, which can add to similar side effects of the inhaler. Excessive alcohol use can also interfere with overall disease control and medication adherence. It is advisable to limit alcohol consumption, avoid binge drinking, and discuss your alcohol intake with your doctor, especially if you have heart disease, liver problems, or poorly controlled asthma or COPD.
If you have ever experienced an allergic reaction to levosalbutamol, salbutamol, or any component of an inhaler device, you must inform your doctor before using Levolin 100 inhaler. Signs of an allergic reaction can include rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. If any of these occur after using the inhaler, stop using it immediately and seek emergency medical help. Your doctor may recommend an alternative bronchodilator or a different treatment plan and may refer you for allergy evaluation if necessary.
Levolin 100 inhaler may be prescribed for children with asthma or other obstructive airway diseases, but only under the guidance of a pediatrician or respiratory specialist. The suitability, technique of use, and the need for a spacer device depend on the child’s age and ability to coordinate inhalation. The doctor will determine the appropriate regimen and will teach the child and caregivers the correct inhaler technique. Regular follow-up is important to monitor growth, symptom control, and any side effects.
Common side effects of Levolin 100 inhaler can include tremor (shakiness), headache, nervousness, palpitations or a feeling of fast heartbeat, throat irritation, cough, and muscle cramps. Some people may also experience mild chest discomfort or a feeling of jitteriness. These effects are often temporary and may lessen as your body adjusts to the medicine. However, if side effects are severe, persistent, or associated with chest pain, severe dizziness, or worsening breathing, you should seek medical attention promptly.
