How LEVOLIN SYRUP 100 ML Works

• Levosalbutamol selectively stimulates beta-2 adrenergic receptors on the smooth muscle surrounding the airways. This stimulation relaxes the muscle, widening the airways and allowing more air to move in and out of the lungs.
• By relieving this airway narrowing, Levolin Syrup eases wheezing, coughing and breathlessness. Being the active isomer of salbutamol, it delivers this bronchodilator effect without the inactive isomer present in racemic salbutamol.

Tremor, headache, palpitations, an increased heart rate and muscle cramps are the most commonly reported effects. A rare but serious effect called paradoxical bronchospasm, where breathing suddenly worsens just after taking a dose, needs immediate medical attention. Chest pain, a severe headache or marked dizziness also need prompt medical attention.

• Store the bottle in its original pack, below 25°C unless the pack states otherwise, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children.

• Shake the bottle well and use the measuring cup or spoon provided for an accurate amount
• This is a reliever medicine for symptoms as they occur, not a preventer
• Report any unusual muscle twitching, weakness or irregular heartbeat, which can signal a potassium imbalance
• Tell the prescriber about any heart condition or diabetes before starting
• Avoid smoking, since it irritates the lungs and can worsen breathing difficulty
• Seek immediate medical attention if wheezing suddenly worsens just after a dose, or for chest pain or severe breathlessness

• Levolin Syrup can generally be taken with or without food. There is no other specific food interaction established for this product.
