Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them.

Allergies
Contraindicated in known allergyDo not use HMG 150 injection if you have a known allergy to human menopausal gonadotropins or any component of the formulation.
LUPI HMG 150 VIAL INJECTION contains an active ingredient called Menotrophin. Menotrophin is a mixture of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). It is used to treat infertility in women, who face a problem with ovulation. It works by helping follicles (which contains egg) to mature in the ovaries, resulting in the release of a properly developed egg. It is also used in assisted reproductive technology procedures (ART) such as in-vitro fertilization (IVF), which help women to become pregnant. It may also be used in adult men, who have low sperm cell count, due to lack of certain hormones.
It is given as an injection into a muscle or under the skin. Always take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor might decide the dose based on your gender and the condition for which treatment is being given. In women, treatment duration depends on the ovarian response, for which constant monitoring is done by the doctor.
Ideally, you should try not to miss a dose of LUPI HMG 150 VIAL INJECTION. However, please talk to your doctor as soon as you remember that you have missed a dose.
The common side effects are pain and swelling at injection site, headache, nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. If any of these side effects bother you, please consult with your doctor. In addition, this medicine may increase the likelihood of conditions like ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) and multiple pregnancy.
HMG 150 injection is a human menopausal gonadotropin preparation used mainly in fertility treatment. In women, it is used to stimulate the ovaries to develop multiple follicles, especially in those who do not ovulate regularly or are undergoing assisted reproductive techniques such as IVF. In men, it may be used under specialist supervision to help stimulate sperm production in certain types of hypogonadism. It should only be used when prescribed and monitored by a fertility specialist.
HMG 150 injection contains hormones with follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) activity. These hormones act like the natural gonadotropins produced by the pituitary gland. In women, they stimulate the growth and maturation of ovarian follicles, which can then release an egg when ovulation is triggered. In men, they support the testicles in producing testosterone and sperm. The exact response varies between individuals, so regular monitoring with blood tests and ultrasound or semen analysis is required.
No, HMG 150 injection must not be used during pregnancy. It is intended to help achieve pregnancy, but once pregnancy occurs, treatment with hMG should be stopped. Using this medicine while pregnant does not provide any benefit and may pose risks. Before each treatment cycle, your doctor may perform a pregnancy test to ensure you are not already pregnant. If you think you might be pregnant during treatment, inform your doctor immediately and do not take further injections until you receive medical advice.
HMG 150 injection is generally not recommended during breastfeeding. There is limited information on whether the hormones in hMG pass into breast milk or how they might affect a nursing infant or milk production. Because the medicine alters hormone levels significantly, doctors usually advise either postponing fertility treatment until breastfeeding is completed or stopping breastfeeding before starting therapy. Discuss your plans for breastfeeding and future pregnancy with your doctor so that an appropriate and safe treatment plan can be made.
HMG 150 injection is not primarily processed by the liver in the same way as many oral medicines, and significant liver toxicity is not commonly reported. However, people with existing liver disease should still use it cautiously. Severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), a possible complication in women, can indirectly affect fluid balance and organ function, including the liver. If you have a history of liver problems, inform your doctor before starting treatment so that your condition can be assessed and monitored appropriately.
There is limited specific data on the use of HMG 150 injection in patients with kidney impairment. While the medicine itself is not classically known for causing kidney damage, severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) in women can lead to fluid shifts and, in rare cases, affect kidney function. If you have mild to moderate kidney disease, your doctor will weigh the potential benefits and risks and may monitor you more closely. In severe kidney disease, fertility treatment with hMG may not be advisable or may require specialist input from a nephrologist.
HMG 150 injection is not known to directly impair the ability to drive or operate machinery. However, some people may experience side effects such as headache, dizziness, abdominal discomfort, or mood changes, which could affect concentration or reaction time. If you feel unwell, lightheaded, or in significant pain after an injection, avoid driving or using heavy machinery until you feel normal again. Always listen to your body and prioritize safety, and inform your doctor if these symptoms are persistent or severe.
There is no strong evidence of a direct interaction between moderate alcohol consumption and HMG 150 injection. However, alcohol can affect hormone balance, liver function, and overall health, which may influence fertility treatment outcomes. In addition, alcohol may worsen side effects such as headache, nausea, or dizziness. Most fertility specialists advise limiting or avoiding alcohol during treatment and while trying to conceive to optimize success rates and reduce potential risks. Discuss your alcohol intake honestly with your doctor for personalized advice.
Allergic reactions to HMG 150 injection are uncommon but can occur. Mild reactions may include redness, itching, or swelling at the injection site. More serious allergic reactions can involve rash, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing, or severe dizziness. These symptoms may indicate anaphylaxis, which is a medical emergency. If you have a known allergy to gonadotropins or any component of the injection, you should not use this medicine. Inform your doctor about any previous drug allergies before starting treatment.
Common side effects of HMG 150 injection in women include injection site pain or redness, headache, abdominal discomfort or bloating, breast tenderness, mood changes, and mild nausea. In men, side effects may include injection site reactions, breast tenderness or enlargement, acne, and mood changes. A serious but less common risk in women is ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), which can cause severe abdominal pain, rapid weight gain, vomiting, and breathing difficulty. Blood clots are a rare but serious complication. Report any unusual or severe symptoms to your doctor immediately.
Yes, HMG 150 injection increases the risk of multiple pregnancy, such as twins or higher-order multiples, because it stimulates the development of more than one follicle in the ovaries. Multiple pregnancy carries higher risks for both the mother and babies, including preterm birth, low birth weight, and pregnancy complications. To reduce this risk, your doctor will monitor follicle development with ultrasound and may adjust or cancel a treatment cycle if too many follicles are growing. Always follow your specialist’s instructions and attend all scheduled monitoring appointments.
