How MBSON SL TABLET 10'S Works

• Vitamin B12 works with folate in the bone marrow to make DNA, which dividing cells need. Without enough B12, red blood cells are made too large and too few, causing megaloblastic anaemia with tiredness, breathlessness and pale skin.
• B12 is also needed to make myelin, the protective sheath around nerves. Low B12 can damage nerves and the spinal cord, causing numbness, tingling, poor balance, memory problems and low mood. Replacing B12 allows red blood cell production to recover and can stop nerve damage from getting worse.

Vitamin B12 is usually well tolerated. Mild nausea, diarrhoea, headache or a rash can occasionally occur. Allergic reactions are rare, and swelling of the face or difficulty breathing needs emergency care. When B12 treatment starts in severe anaemia, blood potassium can fall as new blood cells are made. For this reason, severe deficiency is treated under medical supervision.

• Store the strip in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and follow the storage instruction printed on the current Unison pack. Keep it out of the reach of children, and do not use it after the expiry date.

• Let the tablet dissolve under the tongue
• Have B12 levels checked as the doctor advises
• Tell the doctor about metformin or long-term acid-reducing medicines
• Include milk, curd, paneer, eggs or fish in the diet if suitable
• See a doctor for numbness, tingling or poor balance
• Keep taking it for as long as the doctor advises

• Vitamin B12 is found naturally in animal foods such as milk, curd, paneer, eggs, fish and meat. Plant foods contain little B12 unless they are fortified. Heavy alcohol use can worsen nutritional deficiencies.
