Micropore tape is generally well-tolerated, but some individuals may experience the following side effects: * **Skin Irritation:** Redness, itching, or burning sensation at the application site. * **Allergic Reaction:** Rash, hives, or swelling due to sensitivity to the adhesive. * **Skin Damage:** Blistering or skin tears upon removal, especially in individuals with fragile skin. * **Adhesive Residue:** Sticky residue left on the skin after removal. * **Infection:** If applied to broken skin, there's a risk of infection if the area is not properly cleaned. * **Hair Follicle Issues:** Folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles) if applied to areas with hair and removed improperly. If any of these side effects occur, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
Allergies
CautionAvoid using Micropore 5 CM (2 inch) if you are allergic to it.
Micropore 5 cm (2 inch) tape is commonly used to secure dressings, bandages, and medical devices to the skin. It is suitable for sensitive skin.
Ensure the skin is clean and dry. Cut Micropore tape to the required length and apply gently without stretching.
Micropore tape is water-resistant, not waterproof. It can tolerate slight moisture, but may loosen with prolonged water exposure.
Micropore tape is generally safe for sensitive skin as it is hypoallergenic and has a gentle adhesive.
Remove the tape slowly, supporting the skin. If needed, use a medical adhesive remover to loosen the adhesive.
Micropore tape should not be applied directly to wounds. It can be used to secure wound dressings.
Store Micropore tape in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
After surgery, Micropore tape can be used to secure dressings over the incision site. Always follow the doctor's instructions.
Micropore tape is generally safe for children, but always ensure it is kept out of their reach.
Micropore tape is not reusable. Use a fresh piece after each application.
Micropore tape is designed to leave minimal residue on the skin. If there is any residue, it can be gently washed off or a medical adhesive remover can be used.
The shelf life of Micropore tape is typically mentioned on the packaging. Do not use it after the expiration date.
Avoid using Micropore tape directly on hair as it can cause pain and pull hair upon removal.
Micropore tape is available at most pharmacies, medical supply stores, and online retailers.
If you are allergic to Micropore tape, discontinue use and switch to a different type of hypoallergenic tape. Seek medical advice if the reaction is severe.
