How MIRAGO 25MG TABLET 10'S Works

• Mirago selectively activates beta-3 adrenergic receptors in the detrusor muscle of the bladder. Stimulating these receptors relaxes the detrusor muscle, which is responsible for bladder contraction during the storage phase, allowing the bladder to hold more urine and contract less often.
• Unlike antimuscarinic medicines, which are the other main class used for overactive bladder, mirabegron acts on adrenergic rather than muscarinic receptors, offering an alternative for people who do not tolerate or respond well to antimuscarinic agents. It may be used alone or, in some patients, combined with an antimuscarinic medicine under specialist guidance.

Increased blood pressure, headache, dizziness, urinary tract infection, constipation and diarrhoea are the most commonly reported effects. An irregular or increased heart rate needs medical attention if it occurs, and angioedema, with swelling of the face, mouth or throat, needs immediate medical attention.

• Store the tablets in their original pack, away from moisture and direct sunlight, and out of the reach of children.

• Take at the same time each day for consistent effect
• Do not stop taking it without the prescriber's advice, even if symptoms improve
• Attend blood pressure checks as advised, particularly if there is a history of hypertension
• Tell the prescriber about any difficulty emptying the bladder before starting
• Combine with bladder-training measures such as fluid management and pelvic floor exercises, as advised
• Seek prompt medical evaluation for burning urination, fever, flank pain or blood in the urine, since these need separate assessment

• Mirago can generally be taken with or without food. There is no specific food interaction established for this medicine.
