Myospaz Forte Tablet can cause several side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Common side effects may include: * Drowsiness * Dizziness * Headache * Nausea * Vomiting * Stomach upset * Dry mouth * Blurred vision * Difficulty in urination Less common but more serious side effects include: * Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing) * Liver problems (yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine) * Fast or irregular heartbeat * Mental/mood changes * Seizures This is not an exhaustive list. If you experience any unusual symptoms while taking Myospaz Forte, consult your doctor immediately.

Gastrointestinal and Cardiovascular Risk
Use with cautionThe diclofenac component of Myospaz can increase the risk of gastrointestinal irritation, ulceration, and bleeding, particularly in older adults, patients with a history of peptic ulcer disease, those taking corticosteroids, anticoagulants, or antiplatelet agents, and those who consume alcohol regularly.
Myospaz Forte Tablet is used to relieve muscle pain, spasms, and stiffness. It is used in the treatment of back pain, neck pain, and joint pain.
Myospaz Forte Tablet contains two medicines: Chlorzoxazone and Diclofenac. Chlorzoxazone is a muscle relaxant that works by acting on the brain and spinal cord to relax muscles. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation.
The common side effects of Myospaz Forte Tablet include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, and headache.
Myospaz Forte Tablet can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it with food to reduce the chance of stomach upset.
Myospaz Forte Tablet is not recommended for use during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, as it may harm the fetus. Consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
Myospaz Forte Tablet may pass into breast milk and harm the baby. Therefore, breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medicine.
The dosage of Myospaz Forte Tablet depends on the severity of your condition and the advice of your doctor. The usual recommended dose for adults is one tablet two or three times a day.
Drinking alcohol with Myospaz Forte Tablet can increase the risk of drowsiness, dizziness, and other side effects. Therefore, it is best to avoid drinking alcohol with this medicine.
Myospaz Forte Tablet is not addictive.
Store Myospaz Forte Tablet at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
If you miss a dose of Myospaz Forte Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. But, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Symptoms of an overdose of Myospaz Forte Tablet include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, seizures, and coma.
Myospaz Forte Tablet can interact with certain other medicines, such as blood thinners, antidepressants, and pain relievers. Tell your doctor about all your medications before using this medicine.
Myospaz Forte Tablet is generally not recommended for long-term use. If you need long-term pain relief, talk to your doctor.
Some other medicines containing Diclofenac and Chlorzoxazone include Dolokind M Tablet, Myoril Forte Tablet and Zoxlcodol Forte Tablet.
Myospaz is used for short-term relief of painful muscle spasms and associated musculoskeletal pain, such as acute low back pain, neck pain, muscle strains, sprains, and other soft-tissue injuries. It combines a muscle relaxant with pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory agents to reduce spasm, inflammation, and pain. It is not intended for long-term chronic pain management unless specifically advised by a doctor.
Myospaz typically contains chlorzoxazone, diclofenac, and paracetamol/acetaminophen. Chlorzoxazone acts on the central nervous system to reduce skeletal muscle spasm. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits prostaglandin synthesis, thereby reducing inflammation, pain, and swelling. Paracetamol acts centrally to increase the pain threshold and can reduce fever. The combined effect is relief from muscle spasm and associated pain.
Onset of action can vary between individuals, but many patients begin to notice pain relief and reduction in muscle spasm within 30 minutes to a few hours after taking a dose. The sustained-release component of diclofenac in some formulations is designed to provide prolonged pain control. If there is no improvement in symptoms after a few days of use, or if pain worsens, medical review is recommended.
In many regions, Myospaz and similar combination products are prescription-only medicines because they contain an NSAID, a centrally acting muscle relaxant, and paracetamol. Self-medication without medical supervision may increase the risk of side effects, drug interactions, and inappropriate use. You should consult a registered healthcare professional before starting Myospaz and use it only as directed.
Common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, heartburn, and mild elevation of liver enzymes. Some people may experience dry mouth, diarrhea, constipation, or a feeling of weakness. These effects are usually mild and transient, but if they are severe, persistent, or worsening, you should contact your doctor.
Serious but less common side effects include signs of liver injury (such as yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, severe fatigue, or persistent nausea), gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration (such as black or bloody stools, vomiting blood, or severe stomach pain), kidney problems (reduced urine output, swelling of legs or ankles), severe skin reactions (rash, blistering, peeling), and severe allergic reactions (facial swelling, difficulty breathing, chest tightness). If any of these occur, stop the medicine and seek urgent medical attention.
Alcohol should generally be avoided while taking Myospaz. Alcohol can increase the risk of liver toxicity associated with paracetamol and may worsen gastrointestinal irritation and bleeding risk associated with diclofenac. In addition, both alcohol and chlorzoxazone can cause central nervous system depression, leading to increased drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired coordination. If you consume alcohol, discuss this with your doctor before using Myospaz.
Use of Myospaz during pregnancy is not routinely recommended and should only occur if a doctor determines that the potential benefits outweigh the risks. NSAIDs like diclofenac are generally avoided, especially in the third trimester, due to potential effects on the fetal cardiovascular system and labor. Paracetamol is often considered safer when used appropriately, but combination products require careful assessment. Pregnant women should not start or continue Myospaz without explicit medical advice.
Limited information is available on the use of the full Myospaz combination during breastfeeding. Paracetamol is generally considered compatible with breastfeeding when used at recommended doses, but diclofenac and chlorzoxazone may pass into breast milk in small amounts. Because of the combination and potential for infant exposure, a doctor should assess the need for Myospaz in a breastfeeding mother. In some cases, alternative treatments with a better-established safety profile may be preferred.
Myospaz should not be taken together with other medicines containing paracetamol or other NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, naproxen, or additional diclofenac) unless specifically instructed by a doctor, as this can increase the risk of liver damage, kidney problems, and gastrointestinal bleeding. If additional pain relief is needed, consult your healthcare professional for suitable options and to avoid duplicate therapy.
Yes, Myospaz can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or reduced alertness in some individuals, mainly due to the muscle relaxant component. Until you know how the medicine affects you, you should avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing tasks that require full mental alertness. If you experience significant drowsiness or light-headedness, inform your doctor and avoid activities that could put you or others at risk.
Myospaz is generally avoided in people with known hypersensitivity to chlorzoxazone, diclofenac, paracetamol, other NSAIDs, or any excipients in the formulation. It is usually contraindicated in patients with active or recurrent peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding, severe liver or kidney impairment, a history of NSAID-induced asthma or severe allergic reactions, and in certain advanced stages of heart failure or uncontrolled cardiovascular disease. Children, pregnant women, and older adults with multiple comorbidities require special caution and individualized assessment by a doctor.
