How NAUSIPIL MD TABLET 10'S Works

• Prochlorperazine blocks dopamine D2 receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone of the brain, which reduces the signals that trigger nausea and vomiting. It also acts on the vestibular pathways connecting the inner ear to the brain, which helps reduce the spinning sensation of vertigo.
• Its antihistaminic and anticholinergic properties are believed to contribute further to its antiemetic and antivertigo effects. At higher doses, its blockade of dopamine receptors in other brain pathways is responsible for its antipsychotic action in conditions such as schizophrenia.

Drowsiness is the most commonly reported effect. A sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing (orthostatic hypotension), which can cause light-headedness, has also been reported. Uncontrolled muscle movements, tremor, restlessness or stiffness (extrapyramidal symptoms), a persistent fever with muscle rigidity and confusion, or a severe allergic reaction need immediate medical attention.

• Store the tablets in their original pack, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children and pets.

• Allow the tablet to dissolve in the mouth rather than swallowing it whole
• Avoid driving or operating machinery until it is known how this tablet affects alertness
• Rise slowly from sitting or lying down to reduce dizziness or fainting
• Avoid alcohol during treatment, since it can increase drowsiness
• Limit direct sun exposure and use sunscreen, since this tablet can increase skin sensitivity to sunlight
• Report any unusual muscle stiffness, tremor or restlessness to the prescriber promptly

• Taking this tablet with food can help reduce the chance of stomach upset. Alcohol should be avoided during treatment, since it can significantly increase drowsiness.
