Heart and circulation
Use with cautionNSAIDs like naproxen have been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke, particularly when used at higher exposures or for prolonged periods.
Long-term use should be under medical supervision to monitor for potential side effects.
Relief may vary depending on the individual and the condition being treated, but it typically starts within hours of ingestion.
Consult your doctor before combining NAXDOM 250MG TABLET 15'S with other pain relievers to avoid potential interactions.
Discontinue use and seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe side effects while taking NAXDOM 250MG TABLET 15'S.
Naxdom 250 is primarily used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks, with or without aura. It combines an NSAID (naproxen) to relieve headache pain and inflammation with domperidone to help control nausea, vomiting, and gastric discomfort that often accompany migraine. It is not intended for routine pain such as mild tension headache or everyday aches unless specifically advised by a doctor.
Naxdom 250 contains naproxen, which inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes and reduces the production of prostaglandins, substances that contribute to pain and inflammation in migraine. Domperidone acts on dopamine receptors in the gut and chemoreceptor trigger zone to enhance gastric emptying and reduce nausea and vomiting. Together, these actions help relieve both the headache and associated gastrointestinal symptoms of a migraine attack.
Naxdom 250 is usually taken as soon as possible after the onset of a migraine attack, ideally when the headache or associated symptoms begin. Early use tends to provide better symptom control than delayed use. However, you should follow the timing and maximum daily use recommended by your doctor and not take repeated doses more frequently than advised.
No. Naxdom 250 is intended for short-term, on-demand use to treat acute migraine attacks and is not a preventive (prophylactic) medication. Using it too frequently can increase the risk of side effects, including medication-overuse headache, gastrointestinal bleeding, kidney problems, and cardiovascular events. If you experience frequent or chronic migraines, consult your doctor about preventive treatment options rather than taking Naxdom 250 regularly.
Common side effects may include stomach pain, indigestion, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and dry mouth. Some people may experience mild skin rash or itching. These effects are usually transient, but if they persist, worsen, or become troublesome, you should contact your healthcare provider. Serious side effects such as black or bloody stools, vomiting blood, severe abdominal pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, sudden weakness, or severe allergic reactions require urgent medical attention.
Naxdom 250 should generally be avoided in people with a history of allergy to naproxen, domperidone, aspirin, or other NSAIDs; active or recurrent peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding; severe heart failure; significant kidney or liver impairment; known serious heart rhythm disorders or prolonged QT interval; or a history of severe NSAID-induced asthma or allergic reactions. It is also usually avoided in the third trimester of pregnancy. Your doctor will assess your individual risk factors before prescribing this medicine.
You should not combine Naxdom 250 with other NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, diclofenac, or high-dose aspirin) unless specifically instructed by your doctor, as this increases the risk of gastrointestinal and kidney side effects. Combining it with certain triptans or ergot derivatives for migraine may be possible but must be guided by a physician to avoid excessive medication use and potential interactions. Always inform your doctor and pharmacist about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products you are taking before starting Naxdom 250.
Use of Naxdom 250 during pregnancy requires careful medical assessment. NSAIDs like naproxen are generally avoided, especially in the third trimester, because they can affect the fetal circulation (ductus arteriosus) and kidney function and may complicate labor. Domperidone use in pregnancy is also not routinely recommended without clear benefit. If you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to conceive, you should discuss alternative migraine treatments with your doctor rather than taking Naxdom 250 on your own.
Both naproxen and domperidone can pass into breast milk in small amounts. Short-term, occasional use may be considered in some situations if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the risk to the infant, but this decision must be made by a healthcare professional. Prolonged or high-dose use is generally discouraged during breastfeeding. If you are nursing, consult your doctor before using Naxdom 250, and monitor the infant for unusual sleepiness, feeding difficulties, or gastrointestinal symptoms if exposure occurs.
Naxdom 250 is usually taken as needed at the onset of a migraine attack rather than on a fixed schedule, so the concept of a missed routine dose often does not apply. If your doctor has given you a specific dosing schedule and you miss a dose, take it when you remember, provided it is still appropriate for your symptoms and not too close to the next planned dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one, and do not exceed the maximum frequency or total daily intake recommended by your doctor.
Naxdom 250 may cause dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, or visual disturbances in some individuals, which can impair concentration and reaction time. Until you know how this medicine affects you, avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing tasks that require full alertness. If you experience significant dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision after taking Naxdom 250, you should not drive or engage in hazardous activities.
