Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them.

Respiratory and Sleep-Related Breathing Disorders
Use with extreme cautionNitravet 10 can depress respiratory drive and should be used with great caution in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), sleep apnoea, or other significant breathing disorders.
Yes, NITRAVET 10MG TABLET 15'S can get you high especially when more than the recommended dose is used for a long period of time. Patients with a history of alcoholism, drug abuse and personality disorders should be closely monitored since these patients may intentionally take more than the recommended doses of NITRAVET 10MG TABLET 15'S to get “high”.
NITRAVET 10MG TABLET 15'S works quickly. It takes 30 to 60 minutes to induce sleep following which the person may remain asleep for 6 to 8 hours. Therefore, it should be taken just before going to bed.
Yes, NITRAVET 10MG TABLET 15'S is in fact used for short-term treatment of insomnia (trouble falling asleep). It shortens the time taken to fall asleep and lengthens the duration of sleep. It helps you to sleep but does not cure the underlying cause of your insomnia, which you should discuss with your doctor.
NITRAVET 10MG TABLET 15'S belongs to the benzodiazepine class of medicines. These medicines are known as tranquillizers, which means they have a calming effect and make you feel relaxed. However, its prolonged use may cause some side effects like excessive drowsiness, reduced alertness, confusion, tiredness, etc.
Taking high doses of NITRAVET 10MG TABLET 15'S may cause mild or serious side effects. The mild symptoms of an overdose of NITRAVET 10MG TABLET 15'S include drowsiness, mental confusion and tiredness. In more serious cases, you may develop inability to move, loss of muscle tone, fall in blood pressure, breathing difficulties, coma (loss of consciousness for a period of time) and very rarely death.
Treatment with NITRAVET 10MG TABLET 15'S should be as short as possible. Generally, including the gradual reduction of dose (tapering process), the duration of treatment varies from a few days to two weeks and can extend up to a maximum of four weeks. Higher doses of this medicine are not at all recommended. If you take the medicine for longer than the prescribed duration of time, you may develop physical and psychological dependence and tolerance (higher dose required to have the same effect).
Do not stop taking NITRAVET 10MG TABLET 15'S before consulting your doctor. Stopping the treatment suddenly may cause withdrawal symptoms which include a recurrence of sleep problems, depression, nervousness, extreme anxiety, tension, restlessness, and confusion. The withdrawal symptoms may also include mood changes, irritability, sweating, diarrhea, headache, and muscle weakness.
NITRAVET 10MG TABLET 15'S should be used with care in elderly people. Usually, the dose advised for aged people is half of what is normally advised. This means that the dose should be restricted to 2.5 or 5 mg. Since NITRAVET 10MG TABLET 15'S relaxes the muscles, elderly patients should take extra care when they get up at night as there is a risk of falls and consequently of injuries including hip fractures.
Yes, some licensed online pharmacies in India may offer Nitravet 10 with cash on delivery, but only against a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner. Availability of COD depends on the pharmacy’s policy and your delivery location. Always ensure you are ordering from a legitimate, registered pharmacy that verifies your prescription and provides clear information about the medicine, manufacturer, and expiry date.
No, it is not legal or safe to purchase Nitravet 10 without a valid prescription. Nitrazepam, the active ingredient in Nitravet 10, is a benzodiazepine and is regulated due to its potential for dependence, misuse, and serious side effects. Reputable pharmacies in India are required to check prescriptions before dispensing this medicine. Buying it from unregulated sources that do not ask for a prescription can put you at risk of unsafe or counterfeit products and may violate local regulations.
Nitravet 10 contains nitrazepam, which belongs to the benzodiazepine group of medicines. It is generally prescribed for short-term management of severe insomnia, particularly when difficulty falling asleep or frequent night-time awakenings cause significant distress or impairment. In some cases, it may be used for anxiety-related sleep disturbance, but this must be decided by a doctor. It is not intended for long-term daily use or for mild, occasional sleep problems without medical evaluation.
Yes, Nitravet 10 has a risk of habit formation and dependence, especially if used at higher doses, for prolonged periods, or without medical supervision. Over time, your body may become tolerant, meaning the same dose has less effect, and you may feel tempted to increase the dose on your own, which is unsafe. Abruptly stopping after regular use can lead to withdrawal symptoms such as rebound insomnia, anxiety, irritability, tremors, or, in severe cases, seizures. Always follow your doctor’s instructions and never stop suddenly without medical guidance.
Before ordering Nitravet 10 online, consult your doctor to confirm that nitrazepam is appropriate for your condition and to discuss duration of therapy and monitoring. Inform your doctor about any liver, kidney, lung, or mental health problems, history of substance misuse, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and all other medicines you are taking. When choosing an online pharmacy, verify its registration, prescription requirement, and customer support. Avoid websites that offer Nitravet 10 without a prescription, at unusually low prices, or with unclear contact details.
No, you should not take Nitravet 10 with alcohol. Both nitrazepam and alcohol depress the central nervous system, and their combination can lead to excessive drowsiness, dizziness, impaired coordination, confusion, and dangerously slowed breathing. This interaction increases the risk of accidents, falls, and potentially life-threatening respiratory depression. You should avoid alcohol completely while taking Nitravet 10 and discuss any history of alcohol use with your doctor before starting this medicine.
Elderly patients are more sensitive to the effects of benzodiazepines like nitrazepam. They have a higher risk of excessive sedation, confusion, memory problems, impaired balance, and falls, which can result in fractures or other injuries. Dose selection and treatment duration in older adults require particular caution and close monitoring by a doctor. In many cases, doctors may prefer alternative treatments or the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time, along with non-drug measures to improve sleep.
Use of Nitravet 10 during pregnancy is generally not recommended unless the potential benefit clearly outweighs the risk, and this decision must be made by a specialist. Benzodiazepines can cross the placenta and may affect the unborn baby, especially if used in late pregnancy or at high doses. Possible risks include neonatal respiratory depression, low muscle tone, and withdrawal symptoms in the newborn. If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or discover you are pregnant while taking Nitravet 10, contact your doctor immediately for advice.
Nitravet 10 can cause drowsiness, slowed reaction time, dizziness, and impaired concentration and coordination. These effects can persist into the next day, especially if you do not get a full night’s sleep, if you are older, or if you are taking other medicines that cause sedation. You should not drive, operate machinery, or perform tasks that require full alertness after taking Nitravet 10 until you know how it affects you and your doctor confirms it is safe to do so.
Nitravet 10 is usually taken at bedtime. If you forget to take it and remember close to your usual sleeping time, you may take it only if you will still be able to have a full night’s sleep, as advised by your doctor. If it is already close to the time you would normally wake up, skip the missed dose and do not double the next dose to make up for it. Taking it too late at night can cause significant next-day drowsiness and increase the risk of accidents. If you are unsure, contact your doctor or pharmacist for personalised advice.
A genuine online pharmacy in India should display its pharmacy registration details, have a verifiable physical address and customer support contact, require a valid prescription for Nitravet 10, and provide clear information about the medicine, including manufacturer and batch details. It should not promise to ship benzodiazepines without a prescription or advertise unrealistic discounts. You can also look for reviews from verified customers and check whether the platform offers access to a registered pharmacist or doctor for queries.
