About NOVELON TABLET 21'S

  • NOVELON TABLET 21'S is a combination birth control pill. It contains two female hormones, Desogestrel and Ethinylestradiol. It's primarily used to prevent pregnancy by stopping the release of eggs from the ovaries. Besides preventing pregnancy, it can also help manage painful periods (dysmenorrhea). Painful periods can include symptoms like severe abdominal cramps, digestive upset, fainting, vomiting, and nausea.
  • It's important to know when *not* to take NOVELON TABLET 21'S or when to be extra cautious. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Desogestrel, Ethinylestradiol, or any other ingredients in the tablet. Tell your doctor *before* starting if you have a history of breast cancer, liver problems (including tumors), kidney issues, heart disease, or stroke. You should also avoid this pill if you have certain blood clotting disorders, or conditions that increase your risk of clots, such as inflammation in veins (like superficial thrombophlebitis or varicose veins), high levels of fat in the blood (hypertriglyceridemia), a family history of blood clots, or if you need surgery or have recently given birth. It's also not suitable if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure, severe diabetes with blood vessel damage, very high cholesterol or triglycerides, pancreatitis related to high fats, or a condition called hyperhomocysteinemia. Do not take it if you have unexplained vaginal bleeding or are taking specific medicines for Hepatitis C.
