• Acebrophylline is described as having bronchodilator-related and mucoregulating actions. Fexofenadine blocks peripheral histamine H1 receptors and can reduce allergic nasal and skin symptoms. Montelukast blocks cysteinyl leukotriene receptors, reducing effects of leukotrienes involved in airway narrowing and inflammation. The ingredients work through different pathways, but the combination does not guarantee symptom control or prevent every exacerbation. Individual response and tolerability vary. Montelukast is a controller medicine, not a rescue treatment for acute bronchospasm.
