Headache, diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain, wind, constipation, dry mouth and dizziness can occur. Blurred vision, sleep problems, rash and itching are less common. With long-term use, PPIs can lower blood magnesium, which can cause tiredness, muscle spasms, confusion, fits or an irregular heartbeat. They can reduce vitamin B12 absorption and slightly increase the risk of hip, wrist and spine fractures, especially in older people. They can also increase the risk of bowel infections such as Clostridioides difficile. Rarely, pantoprazole can cause kidney inflammation, liver problems, blood disorders, severe skin reactions, or a lupus-like rash in sun-exposed areas with joint pain. Persistent watery diarrhoea, reduced urine, yellowing of the skin, a blistering rash or swelling of the face need prompt medical attention.

Pantocid 40mg Tablet contains pantoprazole. It is used for stomach and duodenal ulcers, reflux oesophagitis, Helicobacter pylori infection with antibiotics, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
