Symptoms can include shakiness, sweating, anxiety, blurred vision, rapid heartbeat, and confusion. * Weight gain: Pioglitazone, one of the active ingredients, can cause weight gain. * Edema (swelling): Fluid retention can lead to swelling in the legs, ankles, or feet. * Respiratory tract infections: Increased risk of upper respiratory infections like the common cold or sinusitis. * Headache * Muscle pain (myalgia) * Visual disturbances: Some patients have reported blurred vision or other visual changes. * Anemia: Pioglitazone can sometimes cause a decrease in red blood cell count. * Increased risk of bone fractures: Long-term use of pioglitazone has been linked to an increased risk of fractures, especially in women. * Macular edema: Fluid accumulation in the macula (a part of the eye), which can lead to blurred vision. * Heart failure: Pioglitazone can worsen heart failure in some patients. Symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue, and swelling. * Liver problems: Although rare, pioglitazone can cause liver damage.
